Drew looked at it and said it might be fixable but they needed to get inside to see what was going on. He said he would call me with the details, which he did a few days later. It had more things wrong than we knew about and he gave me a quote for doing it all or just some of the repairs since he knew my sister was on a fixed income. He also said it might be better to get a new laptop if they cost to repair was close to that. My sister did not want the expense of a new laptop and decided to have just the screen replaced and told me to have Drew order it.
Unfortunately my sister passed away just before they began the repair, so I called CCS to stop the work and they were able to do so. They were extremely compassionate through this whole ordeal. I was given the total cost of $76.50 to cover their time and diagnostics, but when I went in to pay and pick up the computer, they had reduced the fee to $50, which was very helpful.
They recycled the computer for me so I didn't have to worry about what to do about it. I found another broken computer among my sister's possessions and brought it to CCS and they recycled it for me for free.
I would recommend CCS Technologies for anyone who needs this kind of service. They also have a section where they sell new laptops and office supplies. Prices were very comparable to places like Best Buy.
