This was disappointing. We’ve been a customer since living in the area for 30+ years. So naturally I called them when there was a problem with my mother’s AC, as she now lives nearby. The AC unit was buzzing but the fan was not running. Unfortunately I could not be there for the repair, but all went well and the AC was back up and running. Then I saw mom’s bill. The repair cost was $495 for a ”Voltage Enhancement System Rejuvenation”. Something I’d never heard of and, according to a little research, doesn’t seem to exist. So I took a look at the unit and saw they replaced the capacitor, a $75 part, and cleaned the fan vents. I could have understood maybe $300, but according to Todd, who I called today, it's a “flat rate charge…and we have overhead…but we didn’t charge for the diagnostic”. He insisted the charge was fair and wouldn’t consider adjusting it. Now he understands that they just lost two customers, one a previously happy, longtime customer.

Great company. They were quick to come out and get it scheduled since it was winter and I didn't have heat. Their quote was about half of what some others I received. They explained what needed to be done and they made me feel confident that the job would be done to correctly and to code. They came back last week and did a central air check. My AC unit is old, but they didn't try to pressure me into getting a new one. Very good company. They were much more thorough than the others I got quotes for and called back to ask questions. Family H&C wasn't interested in answering my questions or mentioning code at all. Mulligan's quote was double what Matheson was.

After having to step out to get parts, they were done in about an hour. They did a great job.

I called Matheson late in the day and spoke to the receptionist late in the day. She was incredibly nice and got me added to the following mornings' schedule. The service guy (I do not recall his name) arrived on time and began working right away. After assessing the problem he presented tiered plans (different levels of service) and gave generic descriptions of the service for all the tiers. I choose the tier I could afford at the time and he began work on the repair/cleaning. All told it only took a few hours from the time he arrived, to the time he was done.

The Best Yet! Last November, a neighbor highly recommended we contact Matheson Heating and Cooling for winter inspection of our furnace. We contacted them for an appointment, and the process from setting the service date, with Cheri, and the inspection/repair of the furnace by Rich, was outstanding. Rich and Cheri were cheerful, friendly, professional, considerate and highly experienced throughout the inspection and repairs. In mid-January, we had a water leak that shut down the furnace last week. I called Cheri; in less than an hour Rich arrived; within 30 minutes he had the furnace functioning. Cheri, Rich....Matheson are by far the most professional, thorough, reasonable and friendly people we have had the pleasure to work with. They will be our sole Heating/Cooling and Plumbing service folks. Kevin

We recently purchased a home in Southeast MI that had the original HVAC system and Water Heater from 1996. We initially contacted Matheson in June of 2017 to do a more in depth inspection of our HVAC and Water Heater since our home inspection report yielded some questions we wanted answers to. They dispatched Trevor out and he did a great job looking through everything and gave us three items we should consider for repair. He also suggested we get an option for replacement given the age and costs between repair and replacement of items. We decided to hold off as we knew we had other expenses we were going to incur. Fast forward to end of July, we were having trouble getting the upstairs cool enough to be comfortable for us and any guests so we decided to contact Matheson again for a replacement cost. They dispatched Chris within two days and after evaluating our system plus taking into account Trevor's notes from the previous visit, Chris presented a variety of options in a good, better, best scenario. He did it in such a way that we felt comfortable going with any of our options and ultimately chose between better and best. He was able to schedule the install for a week later. Our install occurred on 7/28 and the group of gentleman, led by their technician, Scott, were fantastic! They arrived early, kept everything nice and neat while completely replacing all of our major big ticket items. At completion, Scott walked us through everything and also helped us get our rebate forms filled out for Consumers and DTE. Our system works wonderfully and we saw the immediate relief we were hoping for in our upstairs area while also knowing our system will keep us comfortable for years to come. We will continue to use Matheson for all of our HVAC needs and possibly their other services such as electrical and plumbing if the need arises. They are an A+ company and we couldn't be happier!

They are an outstanding, we do not use any other company. We have used them for years.

We had them before, and were not real happy, but we thought we would try them again. They came out the same day. Very prompt. The first time we had them out a couple years ago we were overcharged for a part by $100.00 after checking the price at home depot . They did refund us a portion of the service call when we called them out on it. This time they tried to sell us $700.00 in parts to fix the furnace. We remembered we had signed up for repair services through DTE and told him we would call them. Amazingly he did something with the existing gas valve (that was part of his $700 parts estimate for repairs) and it started working. When DTE came out they said there is nothing wrong with the value or any other part. Furnace appears to be fine. Lesson learned for a $100.00. We will not be using them again.

The guys that installed it were terrific. But the salesman kind of told me I could get it one way and I paid that day when I hired them, in full. Then the day that they came to install, the installer said it really couldn't be done that way and it had to be done this other way that I didn't want. Now I'm stuck with it. But I could have got that anywhere. I went with them because I thought they were going to do it a different way. I don't want to get technical, there's no point. I'm still disappointed. Every time I have to go through there and look at it, it irritates me. The price was just as much as I could have gotten done anywhere. I liked the salesman at first, he was a really nice guy. It just felt like a bait-and-switch thing. I don't think it was planned, not anything they wanted to do on purpose. I had already had three estimates and I already had someone else that was going to do this way. But I didn't want to do it this way. So I called them and they said, "Oh, no, you don't have to do that." But then it turned out that they did have to do that. I think I upgraded my service one step. I got a longer warranty on it. Expectations were great until it was done. I haven't heard from then since. I saw on my phone ID that he called one-time, but he didn't leave a message. They showed up when they said they would, right on-time. That was good. The installers definitely knew what they were doing. The salesman, I guess was professional, but he didn't know what he was talking about. I don't want to tear them down. They're a good company. That's why I went with them. I'm going to have to use them again because I've got my furnace from them and my warranty is with them. If I had to upgrade my air conditioner, I would probably not use them again. I have someone else in mind that I probably should have called for my furnace.

Matheson Heating & Cooling has been the one and only service provider our family has been using, literally, for decades. Reason being is that they are the best at what they do, no question. Our family comes from a long line of trades, and we know quality work when we see it. Plain and simple, you get more than what you pay for with this company. Reasonable prices for outstanding service. My wife and I absolutely couldn't be happier with the work that was performed at our home. Thorough, courteous, knowledgeable, and accommodating are just some of the words that describe these people. Michael sent out Aron to meet with us at our home and as usual, they knew exactly what we were looking for and were eager to meet our needs. A little less than a week later, 4 of their employees were out at our home getting started. Kevin & Ian were at our house throughout the entirety of the project, and it went very smoothly. Applying the finishing touches, Kevin & Ian made sure that our existing humidifier was correctly installed to our new unit, duct work was taped & joints were caulked, and that things were done as they should be. These guys are pro's! Even after the job was done and they were getting ready to wrap up, Ian went through & swept our floors to make sure no miscellaneous screws or aluminum remained on the floor. A+ all around. Well done Matheson H&C.

It was my annual checkup. They did everything. They checked the plumbing, they checked my electrical, they checked my heating and air conditioning and they checked my home generator.

I use Matheson Heating & Air Conditioning.  They do it twice a year.  They were here yesterday May 18th of 2016.
