I am always skeptical going into projects. We set our initial appointment and the sales Representative, Ransom Duncan went over the process of their projects. Basements + worked up the layout and drawings and we bought into the project. There are always hiccups, but our Project manager, Brad, delivered us this amazing space. Their finish carpenters and painters are absolute craftsman. We appreciate everything that they did for us along the way. We could not be happier.

Dan and his team were extremely professional in every way possible. His guys were amazing when they were here working in the basement. Every group ,as they rotate in for their expertise during the project. We were impressed at the end of each day as we looked forward to seeing the daily progress. They all provide their own set of unique expert set of skills. If you need custom carpentry done , Joe is the man. As he built a custom built soffit above the bar that is my favorite part of the project. We highly recommend Finished Basements Plus and you won't be disappointed. Photos coming soon

We had basement plus finish our basement and install a sump pump. Our designer was excellent and was very patient to make sure our basement turned out exactly how we wanted it too. Our project manager did a good job of keeping the contractors on track and always answered the phone and helped us when we had minor issues. All of our concerns were taken seriously and addressed appropriately. We would use this company again.

We have built three houses in the last 45 years. Working with Basements Plus has been the best contracting experience we have ever had. Name any aspect of a contracting experience and they excel at it. From the design process at their offices, to the online scheduling system that told us what to expect, to the trades that so obviously take pride in their work, to the project manager who made sure everything was done completely and well, it was an amazing experience. The beautiful results speak for themselves. If you’re planning to finish or remodel your basement, they are definitely the company to call.

We have just started working with Basements Plus in Commerce Michigan. We have been very impressed with the process so far (actual construction starts in 2 weeks, about 5 weeks from the start of the process and I will update). The initial walk through and estimate was conducted onsite by a very knowledgeable and helpful sales/design person (Joe McGlinn). He was very knowledgeable about the company and their products and helped us with the initial design concept. We then moved onto the actual design and selection. We were guided through the process by Miranda Meabrod. She helped us with our selections and design choices. She also was very helpful in refining our design and made several helpful suggestions without pushing us. She has been very patient as we had lots of questions and changed our minds several times. We really enjoyed working with Miranda. This company also assigns a project manager and their online tools give us easy access to all documentation, change orders and schedules including a calendar and a Gantt chart. We have been very impressed with the professionalism, knowledge and helpfulness of the design team. FYI, payment is broken into 6 parts due at various stages of the project. Look for a future review as we transition into construction. Update at completion The entire process from initial estimate to final completion was professional, thorough and positive. We started with a walk through with Joe to get an initial plan and initial estimate. This included a detail drawing as well as a 3D rendering. The next stage was working with Miranda (a real delight) to pick out materials, colors and finishes. At the meeting, she showed us a 3D rendering including the cabinetry and fixtures in the bathroom, the wall colors and the flooring. This really helped to visualize the project. Subsequent to this, we returned to the showroom and did a fairly major design change as well as several smaller changes. Miranda was very patient and responsive and the 3D imaging really helped. She provided us pricing for the options as we progressed so that we always had control over the budget and there were no surprises. Before construction we met with Brad (our project/construction manager). He was wonderful to work with and kept us fully informed of what to expect. In the construction phase we generally knew in advance when trades were coming and Brad continually checked with us and monitored all the work. The various trades people (some third party) were all conscientious, polite and respectful. They laid carpet pad from the entrance to the basement and to the guest bath that they used. They always announced themselves when arriving and when leaving for lunch or for the day. They kept the workspace clean and several times had a separate person come in to gather trash and clean the area. A very special call out to Hunter (general handyman) and Brandon (and all the painters) Brandon even went out and got a small sample of the wall paint to let us see the color (we had doubts but the sample alleviated them) and also advised us to use the matte vs eggshell finish because it would not show minor flaws or touch-ups as much (a good tip and saved us some money). Also a shout out to the final cleaning crew (Ashley's Construction Cleanup). They did an amazing job on the final cleaning. We highly recommend Basements Plus. They do an excellent job and are great to work with.
