Paul is extremely knowledgeable with his many years of experience. Paul completed a very detailed inspection of my home and identified and explained issues to me. As a first time home buyer, I really appreciated the tips and explanations Paul gave me on how to correct issues with the home on a budget. I would highly recommend Tri County Home Inspection to anyone looking for a great home inspector!

The inspector was great. Every aspect of the home was covered and all findings were enumerated and noted in a detailed report.

I cannot say enough about Paul and his work. I was beyond impressed. He showed up early to the house, fully explained everything, and was very prompt with his report. My father came with me to the inspection as it was my first home purchase. Paul encouraged both of us to ask questions and assured us that we were never getting in his way. He made it clear multiple times that he was there for us to make sure we understood every aspect of the house I might be purchasing. He was very thorough and was not rushing to get done. I had him perform a separate mold test as the basement had flooded in the past. When I received the mold results he called me personally to go over them with me. I definitely recommend him and will be using him for all of my future inspection needs.

My experience with Paul, of Tri-county Home Inspection, was a very positive ones. He quoted me slightly higher than the competition for the same work, which is fully justified. He inspects one home per day, and he gives it his all.

Here are a few highlights:

- Paul is very thorough. He makes sure to touch on everything that you can think of, and then some.
- He is there to do a complete job, not to just check the boxes, wrap it up and take off.
- If you want another look at something, he will openly do it for you and will not make you feel bad about it.
- He will talk to you, is open to discuss things with you, and will answer your questions.
- His inspection will take a very long time, which is a good thing.
- He will produce an good, long, thorough, honest report for you. He will make sure you understand what you are getting into.
- He has retired from his construction work and is not there to sell his services. He will not recommend a contractor friend of his for work either. He deliberately and consciously stays away from positions of conflicting interest.
- Lastly, the appraiser (appointed by the lender) picked on an issue with the house. I asked Paul to help me investigate it. He first made sure he is not in a position of conflicting interests, he then came out for a second visit, went through the questions, and produced a second report, all complementary to the initial service.

Paul is a very professional inspector. I will recommend him to friends and family.

Paul did a wonderful job! His inspection is detailed and thorough. He has a lot of experiences. A few issues were found by Paul in regards to gas, Windows and etc.. His finding helped a lot in negotiating with seller before closing. All in all, wonderful job and service.

Paul did an amazing job.  I've had a few home inspections and have used 3 inspectors, counting Paul.  The last inspector that I used, I loved, but he retired.  So after checking Angie's List, my mom made a few calls and decided to go with Tri-County.  Boy was she glad she did.  He checked the condo from top to bottom, inside and out.  He gave us a lot of useful information and told us what was important to fix and what was more of a cosmetic fix.  I would defintely recommend Paul as  a home inspector and will use them in the future.

Fantastic!  Very through!
Paul did not rush through the process.  He said it would take two hours but is was a little longer which I appreciated.  He gave me helpful tips on some minor issues that I can easily fix myself.  Paul checked:  all appliances, cupboards (condo unoccupied/looked for rodent infestation), electrical outlets/switches, furnace, water (drains, toilets, faucets), garbage disposal, sliding glass doors, front/back doors and garage door/opener.  Paul found two gas leaks in the basement.  Our realtor contacted seller's realtor to fix the problem.  Paul said he would come back to recheck that the gas leaks were fixed.
Would highly recommend Paul to anyone looking for a home inspection.

After reviewing many reviews, Tri-County stood out with indications of consistent high quality service.  This continued with my inspection and I am glad I went with them.  Both Paul and Bill did the inspection and were very thorough.  I was onsite and they took the time to explain any issue they found as well as maintenance items that I should consider.  They definitely went above and beyond!  Paul is very responsive when you call and took the time to walk me through additional general questions I had about asbestos and lead a few days after the inspection (on a weekend!).  Highly recommended.

Paul was accommodating with trying to schedule the inspection. When we finally firmed up the date and time he was 45 minutes late. Being that this was a condominium, he only looked at the roof from the ground and never looked into the attic or rafters.
Even though the condo owner is not responsible for roofs or attics, you will end up paying for the repairs if the association does not have enough in reserves to pay for those repairs. Although he spent a lot of time there, a lot of it was spent talking to the owners, who were present. All in all, it was a very basic inspection and I was not impressed at all. I would have to say to look elsewhere for an inspector.

Response from Tri-County Home Inspection Services
"We rescheduled this inspection 3 times for our customers convenience however their is NO excuse for our inspectors to be late arriving at the home or Condo. Our policy is to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early to every inspection and because of this review we have made changes in our scheduling procedure to make sure this is taken care of, all of our employees have been made aware of how important it is to stay on schedule. As for the roof inspection on a Condo, we only inspect what you are responsible for, the same roof covers all of the attached Condos in the same building and is re-roofed when necessary by the association, The Condo Association takes FULL responsibility for the exterior of the complete building this includes the roof, insulation and main structure of the building and is explained in the Association bylaws. Take a few minutes to read the past reviews that our company has received over the last several years, if you have any questions about our services please contact us a 248 563 6789 and after the inspection we urge our clients to send in reviews of our services this helps us to give better service to You our client."

Paul and Bill where the best! They inspected the interior and exterior of the house their concern was making sure I was informed of all issues and what it would take to make things right. They spent a total of four hours going over every aspect of the home and the explaining the difference between inspections for FHA and city inspectors. The report was delivered the following morning all 34 pages! The level of detail, pictures and explainations was great, while the majority of the issues are very minor, making sure doors fit tightly, a few minor repairs to bathroom fixtures and some other honey do list items, they are things I wanted to address to make it right for the next owners.

Paul and Bill were extremely thorough.  They arrived right on schedule and spent almost an hour on the outside of the property and nealy 3.5 hours on the inspection overall.  They also had no problem with my husband and father-in-law shadowing them throughout the whole process.  The electronic inspection report we received was also very thorough and included pictures of any potential issues they found as well as recommendations.  This is our 2nd home purchase and we wanted to go with an independent inspection service, not someone recommended by a realtor.  We were not let down.

Paul and his partner did a complete and very thorough home inspection on a home in Howell Michigan.  I was very happy with the time he took to explain everything to me.  We spent about 3.5 hours on a 2500sqft home.  Once completed I felt much more confident about the quality of the home and we identified several minor items we will have to address.  I would definitely recommend them...

I am so impressed with Tri-County Home Inspection Services.  They were early to the appointment, very friendly and professional.  They took their time and explained to me room by room and reviewed with me each appliance (furnace, water heater, fridge, stove) what they found, what they didn't find (which was good).  I received their review that same night which is very thorough.
I can't write this enough, I am very pleased with their inspection services!

Pros:
>Friendly
>Gave some helpful home repair tips.
Cons:
>Higher priced than other inspection companies I researched.
>3% up charge for credit card vs. cash.
>I don't think he is a  licensed home inspector.  I would recommend someone who is licensed.
>Wanted payment up front vs. at the end of the inspection.
>Communicated alot of process things that he could not do because of "his" insurance regulations.
>Does not do air or radon testing.
>2 individuals were doing the inspection, which did not allow for me to be with both of them at the same time, to see what they were looking at/for.
>I could have done what they did - if I had a gas tester.
>One of the individuals was older and in poor physical health.  My opinion is that he should not be inspecting homes.
>I would have preferred that he spend more time inspecting and less time providing helpful tips.

Response from Tri-County Home Inspection Services
"No matter how many negative remarks we get, no one from my inspection team will ALTER or change our inspection procedure. If the problem isn't there we call it like it is. If it is there it is in the report. We give only honest reports with advice on how to correct it. I have over 40 years building experience I hold a Michigan Builders License, my partner has over 30 years repair and rehab experience. Honestly and integrity is what our company is built on. If you're looking for a through inspection, call us, if your looking for someone to make you feel good or someone to put something in a report that doesn't exist, don't waste your time or ours. We're asked all the time to put issues in a report that just isn't there just so Someone can try and bargain a lower price or just look the other way by the seller, If you're looking for a good inspection with information on how to fix issues that may arrive call us. Read the other 70 remarks from past customers, you make the decision. If you have any questions e-mail me at [email protected] if you would like to talk to me direct call me at 2485636789 between 7 and 11pm"

Paul was professionally exceptional in his thoroughness and explaining everything to the homeowner.  He inspected every electrical outlet in the house, inspect3ed for gas leaks and did a complete and thorough inspection of the entire property both inside and out.  He pointed out minor repairs and other moderate issues to be addressed.  The house passed inspection and repairs will be made prior to closing on the property.

His knowledge went over and above expectations and I would recommend Paul to anyone buying, selling or maintaining their most valuable asset.  Would hire again in a heartbeat.

Paul provided a very thorough inspection (totaled 4 plus hours) and wealth of knowledge. The detailed 40 page report was excellent in laying out each system and deficiency with pictures and a summary at the end. I appreciated how frank and upfront he was about the condition of the house and never flinched in giving us honest opinions, good or bad. We weren't looking for lip service or I'll tell you what you want to hear mentality. Instead we got exactly what we needed- a neutral professional examination with a high level of detail and insight from his years of experience. We knew the house wouldnt be perfect, obviously but he gave us peace of mind that even with the numerous faults (mostly cosmetic) we could move forward with our purchase. He was happy to answer any question we had during the process but he was great at pointing things out to us before our questions even arose. His calm demeanor and friendly personality made it more of a pleasure than a chore to go through. That in and of itself means a lot and I'm sure his past customers all say the same thing. My mom who came along was also very impressed and complimented me for using his service. I would definitely highly recommend him and use him again in the future.

Paul was on time and was very courteous. We are first time home buyers and Paul explained things as he was inspecting them. He also gave us insight on how to repair certain things that we could do ourselves. Overall the inspection took about 4 hours and was very thorough. Later that night we received our inspection report and it contained a very detailed description of problems including pictures that pointed where things needed repairs, replacement, etc.
We will be recommending Paul for anyone looking for home inspection needs.
