Sanchez Tree Service

This was an unsolicited service. The foreman showed up at the door of my elderly mother, saying they were doing work in the area. They quickly conned her into signing a contract, and writing a check for the full amount before work began. Her granddaughter showed up in the middle of the negotiations and tried to put a stop to it. She asked if they would wait until my brother got there. If this company had an ounce of integrity, they would have backed off to let the family discuss it. But no! The foreman Aaron basically said "Too bad, she already wrote the check." The crew got to work quickly and sawed down some branches and small trees. The foreman left in the middle of the job. The workers soon followed, and high-tailed out of there, refusing to listen to my brothers, who by then had arrived to find the work in progress. If I'm being generous, they did maybe $1000 worth of work. And they left all the stumps of the small trees they cut down, then pointing out that stump removal was not included in the bill. Bottom line: Sanchez Tree Service took advantage of an elderly lady and overcharged her for work that was completely unnecessary to begin with.

Overall the job done was satisfactory at marginal best, lack of professionalism, work scope had to be defined very clearly by me before, still had to bird dog the entire work and push to get the work done properly, especially trimming of trees. The workers were sincere in doing the job, but the main project co-ordinator was missing on the scene, did not communicate the work scope properly to his staff and was busy in scouting for and getting new jobs in neighborhood. Only positive was economical as compared to other providers.

We actually used Sanchez Tree Service for two separate jobs. The first one was to remove four dying pine trees from the property line in our front yard. We also paid, included in the flat price, to have the stumps ground after the work was done. The workers did an excellent job in quickly and professionally taking down the trees and removing all the debris associated with it. The next Sunday, as promised, they reappeared and did the stump grinding, completing the job to our satisfaction. The total cost of this was $1,000.00 We then contracted with them to remove two other pine trees and grind the stumps. The removal went fine, but the stump grinding was never done, although we'd already paid for it. I made repeated calls and each time got a promise that 'they'd come out "next Sunday" and do it. It wouldn't be done, I'd call again, and so on. Finally, Mr. Sanchez asked me to get in touch with the people who did his stump grinding, since they were the problem. A little Internet research told me that this was also a Sanchez company, but I called them and got the familiar promise, which, like the others, was never fulfilled. I'm guessing that Mr. Sanchez assumed we had no more work for him to do (which was incorrect), and so he could feel free to stiff us for the service we'd paid for but which he'd never done. There is more work,, but we'll go back to our former tree service rather than deal with the misrepresentations of Sanchez Tree Service.
