Interior Painting
Frank was prompt in coming to our house for an estimate, and gave a great estimate. His "team" was able to finish the job in just three days. The problem is that he used a flat finish paint on the walls (foyer, living room, dining room, and kitchen backsplash), and on the trim and doors. Flat paint can not be washed. He also only did one coat of paint. In several areas you can see through the paint, and on the doors you can scratch it off with a fingernail. Also, his attention to detail was poor, the edging was shaky and paint was dripped on tiled floors but not cleaned up.
When Frank came back to address my concerns he stated that I should keep some paint in a shoe polish can under my couch with a small roller and touch up areas after I wash them. He stated that flat paint is the industry norm, even in kitchens. He also insisted that everything got two coats. When we showed him areas that clearly did not he told us that his men must have forgotte the second coat.
Frank agreed, in writing, to return on January 7, 2013 to give everything a second coat using eggshell finish on the walls, and semi-gloss on all of the trim and doors. Frank has not returned as of 4/24/13. He has offerred numerous excuses including deaths, being broke due to customers not paying (no surprise there), and being out of town.
His work is sub par, and he lacks ethics. DO NOT HIRE him.
