GALUI CONSTRUCTION

Signed contract May 2019 & paid in full. Nine months later job never even started. Galui agreed to a refund. It is now January 2021 and Galui is not returning my calls. I am pursuing the matter in court. Do not give this guy money until a work crew shows up.

I thought you might like to know about my experience with Galui and the slab replacement project on Greenleaf Dr. Slabs and driveways on the north side of Greenleaf were done first. Then the south side of Greenleaf was replaced. Part of my driveway that was in the easement was also prepped for concrete. I believe the south side was poured around the 15th of August. On the north side, driveways were poured the day after the street, but in my case nothing was done until August 26th. In the meantime Galui had dumped a partial load of cement in my driveway. I was very concerned because knowledgeable folks I spoke with all said it would be bad to pour on top of this. I contacted the city and they got a hold of Galui. The Galui guy who was in charge got back with me finally last Friday saying they would remove the partial pour and re-pour my driveway Monday, August 26th. They did come the afternoon of the 26th. Using a back hoe they removed the partial pour but at the same time broke part of the curb and disturbed all the soil that had been compacted. I asked the man from Galui who was in charge to re-compact the soil but he refused. So the driveway was poured. During the removal, forms were removed and replaced in such a manner that each side of my driveway has a different angle. The original forms would have been fine. So I have a new curb with a patch that will probably pop out the first time the snow plow comes down the street. A slab that will likely settle and crack within a year or two. A driveway with different angles on each side as it approaches the street. And, the icing on the cake was that 3 hours after they poured the driveway they returned to clean up and removed all barrels indicating there was wet cement. Any one could have pulled into our driveway and ruined the whole job. Fortunately we noticed what they had done and put a rope with little flags across our driveway. I?m very frustrated and disappointed with what Galui did.
