I had a great experience with Eason painting from start to finish. Kevin (owner) came out late last fall to quote the job for me. I have a Tudor style colonial in Rochester Hills, which brings with it an unfortunate amount of rot on both stucco boards and trim boards if not properly maintained. Due to poor maintenance by a prior owner, I got fed up with repairing boards myself. Kevin did a very detailed assessment of the rot and provided me with an estimate for replacing all rotten stucco and trim (with cedar, per my request) and applying Sherwin Williams stain to all trim boards, and paint to the stucco. The job also included all of the prep that would be expected with quality work (power wash, sand, quality caulk). The team made it out early this season, and completed the entire job in under a week. This entailed replacing over 150 linear feet of trim board and several large stucco boards, including some in hard to access places. The team was respectful of my property and cleaned up well. Most importantly, the job was done the right way. The caulking appears immaculate, and all discovered rot was replaced with cedar and new stucco boards prior to applying two coats of stain to the trim, and two coats of paint to the stucco. I can now be comfortable that I am years away from having to do any “more than minor” repairs, and my house looks great. The job did run slightly over the estimate, but Kevin was wonderful at communicating any additionally discovered rot so that I had the option of allowing them to do the additional work or not. Therefore, I had a great deal of control over any added costs, and simply chose to err on the side of caution and have rot replaced. All in all, I would have no hesitation recommending Kevin and his team to family or friends. In fact, I would strongly encourage it, especially for the many people fighting similar battles with the Tudor style homes.

While moving my fridge, painters put several gouges in my wood floor. Owner came to check it out and agreed he would pay for the damages. I got two quotes, one to replace the damaged wood and one to refinish the floor. I sent them to him and he agreed to reimburse me the cost to replace the damaged wood. That was about 3 months ago. I have called him every couple of weeks since, left messages, and no results.

We are very happy with the work completed.  Job was completed within the expected time frame of 5 days. The crew arrived promptly every day and was friendly and courteous.  They even stayed a little late on the last day to make sure the work was completed before the weekend to help minimize the time our home would be disrupted.  That was VERY appreciated!  We made a few requests for small add-ons to the job which were able to be completed within the same time frame.  Kevin was great to work with and upfront about the time and cost of added items.  We would gladly use Eason Painting again.

Kevin Eason and his team spent 5-6 days working on my home and it has never looked better! I felt completely comfortable with Kevin and his team who all treated my home with respect which is important to me. They cleaned up at the end of every day they worked here and were constantly spot checking each other to ensure that every step of the painting was done properly.
This is a professional group of men who do their work with pride.
I recommend Kevin and his team to anyone who wants it done right and will be recommending them to family, friends and neighbors. I am extremely happy with the every aspect of the work performed

Excellent.

Kevin and his crew informed us when they would be able to paint our house well in advance of showing up. They power washed the complete house to remove dirt and chipped paint. Kevin ensured all rotted wood was removed and replaced. They ensured all areas of the house was caulked and put two coats of white paint on all of the trim. Kevin used a spray gun on our house which made the finish look great.

Repaired and sanded damaged drywall. Cleaned walls before painting. They did a great job. Walls and ceilings look beautiful. Very clean lines. They have since done painting for my dad and sister (also interior), who were both extremely happy. Their jobs were done in 2013. Kevin and Chuck Eason are a pleasure to work with.

The people from Eason were not the cheapest. However, they were extremely good! We have a 100yr old house that still has its original wood trim and floors. They were extremely careful in their work and I would absolutely use them again.

Of course there were problems.  I had a lot of rot along the bottom.  My gazebo sits on was once a deck.  The original builder didn't put in any footings, so 18 years later the corner of the gazebo nearest the center of the deck was sinking.  I had someone come out, remove the deck from around the gazebo and put it on good footings.  They then added a wooden skirt around the bottom, but didn't do any caulking.  Now 7 years later it needed restaining and we found the rot.  Eason showed me what was happening and were able to remove what was rotten and replace it.  They also caulked all the joints and then restained.  They did a great job and I am very happy with the results.  I am having my kitchen remodeled this year and if I decide I don't want to do the painting myself I will call them for certain.

This is the third time Kevin Eason has worked for me.  Previously, he did interior work for me.
He and his crew were friendly, helpful with paint color suggestions and very professional.
Kevin accomadated my limited time frame and still provided excellent service.
I recommend and will use them again.

Arrived on time dressed clean and neat wearing proper painting clothes.  Introduced themselves used
professional painting equipment.  Eye for detail very careful taping hardware and prepping doors.  Waited
for doors to dry before painting second coat and cleaned up area before they left.  Well worth hiring these men!
A very pleasant experience! I would be proud to recommend this company to anyone!

His employee showed up on time on day 1.     The gentlemen stated he had 30+ years experience doing drywall.     His plastic barrier to minimize dust travel was enough to control dust movement, no problem there.    He placed plastic on the floor around all the walls,   But did not do so in the center of the room.   As a result of the mix of mud he used, there was much mud dropping onto the concrete floor.   This was never cleaned up and we had to use a paint scrapper to do so ourselves.
After day 2, the drywaller said the room needed to be primed.  He stated due to low light he could not see where walls had to be smoothed.   It would be easier with primer.   I think found several areas on the wall that had trowel lines, some as long as 3 feet (ceiling).   The gentlemen removed the plastic barriers from door openings, but did not remove the plastic from the floor, and mud had dripped all over the floor both on and off the plastic drop cloths.   Inspecting further I found mud splatter on my brand new windows and window frames.
I called Kevin and explained my dissatisfaction with a person who has been "in the business for 30+ years doing drywall."   Kevin was very polite and apologized and stated he would send the drywall guy back out right away.  I asked him though to stop by and review the quality of the work.   At this point he had no interest in doing that.   I felt as if he didn't care because this was such a "small" job for his company.  Perhaps he didn't deem us worth his time.
At one point the guy scolded me telling me when doing mud "more isn't better."   I countered, with  "that is the reason I hired you sir."  My wife and I decided that we would not want the same guy back, as we both felt he would have coped an attitude with us for questioning the quality of his work.    We ended up skim coating all the imperfections in the drywall, some that the contractor created himself with his tools to smooth the mud.
We were quoted a job to complete finishing new drywall installation and the words "ready to be painted" was the benchmark for a completed job.    The job was not "paint ready" at any point.  When I we asked Kevin the owner to come review his drywall guy's workmanship, he had no interest in doing so.   Which forced us to conclude we didn't care.   The clean up job was horrible and I considered taking the contractor to task for messing up my brand new windows or seeking a partial refund.  However, we decided to move on.   Thus, we do not feel we received a fair value for a job that was never completed as promised and as a result of our experience we will not use this company again.
