It went great. It was a good experience. The staff and the owner were very polite and kind. He was very understanding to what I need and how fast I needed the service. My home had been broken in to and I neede a fence very quickly. He was able to make time and work with my schedule so that they could put up the fence and now I feel very, very secure. I was impressed with how they worked, the quality of work, and even the quality of materials that they used.
Description of Work: They came out and put up a wooden fence and gate.

The job took a lot longer than expected because of weather delays. However there were days where they could have worked but didn't. The owner came and went a lot and didn't exercise much supervision over his crew. On the last day we settled up as the crew was close to being done and the owner of course had to leave. I was still under the impression these guys knew what they were doing. It soon became clear that the so called tension wire that we had talked at legnth about, was not being installed properly. They ran a wire across the bottom and fastened it to the fence (not the post). When I question why it wasn't tensioned they assured me this was how it was done and provided plenty of restraint to keep the fence from flexing. However it did not. After researching how to install a tension wire I called the owner to complain and he also tried to sell me a bill of goods as to why I should accept the job as is. After some debate he agreed to have it redone. It took two weeks of several no shows to get them back. They sent the same two guys who did the substandard work to begin with. They "corrected" the problem by installing a couple of turnbuckles to put a bit of tension on the wire but never did connect the wire to the posts. Instead, they connected it to the bracket that holds the tension on the chain link material. This is not the accepted standard method and prevents a fully tensioned wire. When I pointed this out to them they refused to change it and insisted it worked just as well. Bottom line is they would have had to take the wire off and install a different one to get the legnth need to connect to the post. Too lazy I guess. So they left without talking to me and the owner has not come to inspect their work or to see if I'm satisfied with the job. The tension is still inadequate and the fence is easily pushed out. Other issues: The gates came prefabed and the bottom hinges are installed outside the framework of the gate and this works well enough. However, 3 hinges that are installed this way are so low to the ground that they had to dig a hole to accomodate the hinge putting the hinge in the dirt! They should have moved some of the hardware on the gate to make room for the hinge to ride higher up, inside the framework of the gate. Too much trouble I guess. One of my gates never did get caps on top. My biggest complaint would be the owners attitude. Once he got his money he has to real interest in making the job right. Doing it right the first (or second) time would have been a lot simpler and faster for all concerned. I either have to live with it, redo it myself, or sue. Probably easier to redo it myself that way I know it gets done right.
Description of Work: I hired them to build a 6' chain link fence about 225' long with three gates. The job specified heavy commercial grade fencing with a tension wire on the bottom. I paid half up front to cover materials and the remainder on what should have been the last day of construction, before they were actually finished. Big mistake.
