They did a pretty good job on both the driveway and the porch. He had some experienced concrete workers who clearly knew what they were doing. They made it look good, and the porch deck and driveway sections are still solid after several years.
The problem was that shortly after it was done, something settled and the upper layer of block under the porch deck separated from the mortar all the way around the porch, leaving a gap that ants and other vermin, as well as water and ice could get into and undermine the structure over time. The company owner did not want to do anything about that gap. He is always in a hurry and wasted no time in asking me to reimburse him for the permit fee, but left the porch as-is. I eventually paid a brick mason to grind out that joint and tuck point it to prevent damage.
He worked with his crew part of time -- all were courteous and worked well together.
