FAIR-WAY TILE & CARPET

The installation of the tile floor was unsatisfactory. Approximately 2/3 of the installed tiles had air pockets or as the company's owner described them "voids" between the tiles and concrete floor. At least two of the tiles could be lifted by fingers. The owner said that he stood by his work. I asked him to inspect the job to consider repairs. Though he acknowledged the voids and tiles that weren't firmly in place he quickly declared that the project was perfect. When I asked that he repair or replace the poorly installed tiles he said that I should be satisfied and compare his work to the 50 year old hardwood flooring on joists upstairs. The company owner made it clear that he would not consider repairing the floor and said that "if I wasn't happy with the job I could sue him" over a $950 project. When I disagreed with the owner about the quality of the workmanship as he was leaving he told me "they have pills for what you have". The results are a substandard product and a dissatisfied customer.

Overall, went well. Wanted to get something installed before the holiday season, and Fair-way was able to get us on the schedule and complete the work very quickly. The workers arrived on time and were very professional.

We were not very happy with this company. He is on Angie's List, but I did not hire him off Angie's List. He did not meet the deadline at all. His main issue was deadline and not very detailed. He did not complete the work. We had to have someone finish what he could not finish because he was going to other jobs. He was not the cheapest and he was not the most expensive one either. His pricing was fair for a good job, I guess, if it was a good job. He was responsive to get the job, but not to finish it.

It went great! The installer was scheduled in less than a week of placing the order and he was courteous and did a wonderful job installing the tile over 1 1/2 days. Then a few days later the carpet installer was scheduled and had it all installed in less than an hour. We are very happy with the results and the treatment we received in the process.

Overall, the experience was excellent!

The only negative issue I had was the time frame involved and the lack of communication on when carpet would actually be installed. Company did not seem to be in a hurry to move the carpet from their warehouse to my house. Sales/estimator/installers were excellent and professional.

They were on time and they did the work pretty quickly. From what I see, I believe they did a pretty high quality job. I would recommend them. They were very helpful when we were choosing and purchasing the carpet and pad.

the gentleman who did the work for us arrived on time, worked the entire day, was thorough and professional. having shopped around for the past few weeks, fair-way's price was the lowest we received for the work.
