We had a terrible experience with carpet from Bartlett's. We purchased carpet for every room in our home (3200 sq. foot home - about 2/3rds is carpet). The first carpet that was laid a little over a year ago had apparent defects; an inspector came to our
home and advised that there were challenges with the installation, also. The carpet manufacturer and Bartlett?s came to an agreement and the carpet was to be replaced.
On the second installation ? late last fall, early spring - they did not order enough carpet which necessitated ordering more product. We now have two major seams, which are extremely obvious. Additionally there were tack strips sticking through the carpet and punctured our feet when we stepped on the carpet with no shoes.
At our request, the owner, Bruce Bartlett, came to our home and said there was nothing he could do to improve the seams, and suggested they would improve over time. They have NOT improved. Regarding the tack strips, he told us to use a hammer and just pound the tack strips that were sticking through.
Approximately a week after his visit to inspect the carpet, we sent a letter via US mail as well as an email to Bruce. We thanked him for coming to inspect our carpet, however, we let him know we were still disappointed in the installation. He did not have the
courtesy to respond to our email or letter.
So --- we spent $10,000 on carpet with major seams in the middle of our living room and back hallway?.and no attempt on his part to make it right.
