Contacted the owner David Bucholtz by reponding to an ad on craigslist via email. He responded promptly and set an appointment to give an estimate. He came when scheduled and did a walk through around the yard with my husband and gave an estimate of $550.00. He was scheduled to come two days later to begin the work. I contacted him to request that he come a little earlier so I could walk through the yard with him to make sure we were in agreement with what needed to be done and make sure he knew what perrenials needed to be saved and what were weeds. ( He was not vewry good at identifying plants as a landscaper should be). He was very courteous and polite. When I returned home late that afternoon, he was just finishing up for the day. My husband had already written him a check for $550.00. We walked the yard and I commented that it did appear very nice. There was one area of the garden behind and next to our shed that had not been weeded or mulched. I specifically mentioned this area in our walk through that morning because the weeds there were very stubborn to control and probably would need to be dug rather than pulled. I said everything looked great except I wanted the area mentioned completed as agreed. He stated that he had some mulch left over in the truck that would remain there over the weekend and he would return the next Monday am (5/4/09) to complete the weeding and mulching of this area. He also stated that he had a credit of 1 yard of top soil from buying the mulch and asked if we needed it for anything, he could get it for us. We stated that we had no use for it and he could use the credit as he wanted. He did not come that Monday nor did he contact us. We called him on 5/7 -no response, 5/9-no response. On 5/12 my husband did reach him that am and he stated he would be there at 11:00 am after picking up the mulch. He said that he hadn't come because they were out of the mulch. He did not come then and we have not been able to contact him since after numerous calls and emails.
