"Travis and Jason came out the same day to clean our fireplace chimney. They were very nice, very efficient and not only cleaned up the ashes but the glass door as well. No one else has ever done that. There price was very reasonable and we highly recommend them. They were a pleasant surprised and we will definitely use Home Advisor again for our future projects."

"We just bought the house so we hired them to clean the duct/vents. The team was very nice, and appeared to do a good job, but my husband got home and dug out several items, including a rock, out of the ducts without any special equipment.  They also reinstalled the cold air return vents upside down.

Hi there. I’m Andrew. I’m a professional air duct cleaner. Here is my story: \n\nI learned the business working for the largest company in the state, slowly saving up to start my own company. I invested in the best commercial-grade equipment that I trained on so I can give myself an edge, knowing I am more thorough then most of my coworkers were. \n\nThe pandemic has been tough on everyone’s business. Let me prove to you that experience counts. My work speaks for itself. Just ask me for referrals. I will match and beat any price for a job done with similar hardware. If you find a quote for half the price, you will get half the quality most likely. A lot of Air Duct companies don’t invest in the right equipment (negative air pressure system). \n\nYour HVAC unit is spewing dusty air. Nearly all of them are. Give me a call and you can take a breath of fresh air.\n\nProfessionally trained and fully insured.

Dryer Vent Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Lint is very flammable. Pair that with the hot heat your dryer produces as it runs, it creates a recipe for sparks and flames. Lint build up is the leading cause of dryer fires, so running routine maintenance on your dryer lint trap is critical to keep your home safe.

Exhaust systems should be inspected annually to prevent efficiency loss and address any arising mechanical issues.

The length of an allowable dryer vent varies based on the local building codes and regulations. Typically, the maximum range is 25 to 35 feet. However, if the vent must have any 90-degree turns, you may see a reduction of five feet from the maximum. Some municipalities may have no specific maximum allowable length as part of the code. Typically, installers will run the vent over the shortest possible distance for safety. The dryer vent cleaning cost is less with a shorter vent length as well.

There are several common warning signs that indicate your dryer vent may be clogged. If your clothes are taking longer than usual to dry, the vent could be the culprit. Other signs include the exterior of the dryer becoming very hot during operation, or the dryer shutting itself off due to overheating. You might also notice an excess of lint left inside the dryer or in the lint trap after a cycle, see lint building up around the exterior vent opening, or detect unusual or burning odors. A clogged dryer vent is a serious fire hazard, so if you notice any of these signs, you should stop using the dryer and have the vent cleaned immediately.

Dryer vent cleaning costs around $150 on average, and most homeowners pay between $75 and $350 for the service. There are a few factors that affect your pricing, including the following:

  • Length of the dryer vent

  • Whether the vent is rigid or flexible

  • Accessibility of your dryer vent

  • Amount of lint needed to remove from the vent

According to the Department of Energy, around 15,000 house fires are started every year from clogged dryer vents. It might seem expensive, but dryer vent cleaning can help you avoid severe house fires, injury, and even death.
