J.L.R. Brickpavers/Landscaping

My expectations were to get a new patio with brick pavers that helped out my family's outdoor living experience. What I got was much more. Yes the product turned out great, but the communication and efficiency from Jeff and his staff were far beyond what I expected. Thank you JLR.

We had a patio put in with a raised flowerbed. The work was shoddy to say the least. The wire going to the light was not buried properly. After the first rain we had water pooling on the patio. After numerous phone calls and many excuses he sent a team to finally come out to correct the water pooling. However the end of the patio was not laid correctly and it took another year for Jeff to correct it. The flowerbed was a disaster as the back wall angled down and he told us to put in plants and cover up the poor work. His crew never used a plumb line, they just threw it together. We contracted another contractor who tore down the brickwork for the flowerbed and rebuilt the bed correctly. Don't use this guy. It was just plain aggravation.

UNTRUSTWORTHY. Do NOT pay him in full until he gives you in FULL what you are to pay him for. He cheated us out of about $3,000 of landscaping, because we foolishly trusted him.

Love the work completed on the front of the house. Jeff had a blank skate, some thoughts from us, and a budget to work with. Jeff and his team delivered big time. We love how the front of the house turned out and we always receive a lot of compliments. This was our second project with JLR. 7 years ago Jeff built a beautiful patio in our back garden that we continue to be so happy with.

Fantastic! I've been trying to have the concrete ramp (very steep & dangerous) and crumbling cinderblock retaining walls on either side leading out from my finished walk out basement removed and completely redone for years! Several contractors reviewed the project, none were capable enough to really go through with it (a few agreed to do the job and cancelled last minute). I called JLR on Thursday, they started the job the following Monday and were done within a week. They removed the old wooden deck and replaced it with a beautiful paver patio, they removed the hazardous concrete ramp and broken cinderblock "retaining" walls and replaced everything with paver walls and paver steps and even installed lighting into the steps and along my fence line to ensure my yard could be enjoyed in the evening and would be safe for my family and I, including my dog. JLR was fantastic to work with!

eff did both my patio and my front landscaping and he told me several times that he would be back to finish cutting a hole in the landscaping bricks for my gutter. He never showed up after multiple booked appointments, when I did happen to see him in person he flailed his arms around mocking me. I wouldn’t recommend using this business

Despite multiple attempts to reach you, I haven’t heard back. This is my last attempt reaching out for the warranty work. I’m going to write an honest, truthful feedback on the internet so that other customers may benefit from it. Ed July 7, 2020 Jeff: "I'm sorry I'm just really behind I will get it taken care of end of the week. It's just very hard to get anything done with the guys in this heat" Jeff later called me on phone, saying he was going to have a job near my area in three weeks. He should be able to get the repair done then. I verbally agreed on the arrangement. I will wait for another three weeks. Aug 3, 2020 Hi Jeff, Are you able to come out for the repair this week? Ed Aug 5, 2020 Hi Jeff, I remember you said you have a job in the Troy area this week. Could you swing by and make the small repair please? I made my original request on June 6. Tomorrow is August 6. I hope they can fully recover from COVID-19 and be healthy again. Since the jobs are at a stand still, could you come out and repair it yourself? Ed I have not heard back from Jeff since. Buyer beware. Jeff the owner would not honor his warranty.

Beware give me a good price, do some work that is good overlooked part of the job I paid for and overcharged because I could not find quote and OVER charged. I found bill and contacted them for refund and to finish cutting limbs off roof Promise to return to finish numerous times and just did not and knew I was in chemo therapy and had acted compassionate so job not finished and owe me money Terrible

On April 26, 2014 , "Jeff" the business owner signed a contract to do landscaping work at my place. He got paid half of the fees
$1500 in advance. The majority of the work was clearing a number of plant beds around the house and regrassing them ,planting some bushes, and fixing some water accumulation issues at various parts of the lawn. The work crew showed up only one time on April 28, partially cleared up one area out of 4, and cut a number of trees (5 of which were not supposed to be cut, a value of more than $700). After numerous calls over a period of 3 weeks to Jeff to ask him to come and finish the work, 2 workers were sent to my place on May 19, where they basically raked some old leaves and piled them up in my drive way , and just left. As of today , June 3, none of the work agreed upon on the contract is actually done , with no sign of the owner having any intention of honoring the contract. The last time I talked to him more than a week ago, I told him that what is going on with this job is completely unprofessional , and his response was "yes, I know".

Jeff is very busy this time of year, but would make time to call me with up-dates, for example waiting on materials, rain-out and re-schedule.  If rain was fairly mild, workers kept right on working.  All workers were respectful, and wanted to make my elderly parents happy.  Mom was especially happy that her rose bushes which were anniversary presents from dad were able to be salvaged.  Dad passed away during the project, and Jeff and crew were very respectful of our situation.
Neighbors were excited about the project, and came over to inspect the project daily.  All exclaimed about the great job.
My only regret is that we didn't do this project last year when my dad also could have enjoyed it!
