FRANK'S WALLPAPER REMOVAL SERVICE

It was a lot of work but they did a good job

So-so. Received a prompt response and estimate, and they showed up on time to work. We were in a hurry, so relied on ratings from Angie's list and Houzz. The owner watched while one man and his son removed the wallpaper. When he discovered we planned to paint these areas, he said he'd get a quote to us, but he never followed through (which was fine, because we would not have used him). After they were finished, we had to deal with shreds of paper aand backing stuck to the tile floor. Although the glue was supposedly removed, our painter had to spend four hours spraying DIF and scraping off the glue that Frank's assured us they had washed off. Instead of a 3-man crew, we had a 1-2 man crew and had to pay the painter 4 hours of labor that Frank's was supposed to take care of. Nice guy, but would not recommend.

Received bid for job and they were able to come out the following week. Arrived promptly and were done with two rooms (kitchen area had lots of cracks and crevices they handled with no issues) and were done in an hour. Very professional, gave great advice on prepping for paint, and did a great job on cleanup. Would definitely recommend!

Very prompt and accommodating. Thrilled he was able to give a great bid and remove 6 different areas of paper in 1 day so we could continue to paint and speed up our move in day.

They did a fine job removing the old wallpaper (reviewed separately) and we'd use them again for that.
But in the patching phase they left the house in an absolute mess of plaster dust. Our hardwood floors may not recover from the plaster grit ground into them. They should have completely covered areas that they worked on but instead left some floors and stairs exposed. Not a happy experience. They should definitely stick to wallpaper removal and leave the rest to others.

The crew was prompt and professional, worked quickly and cleaned up well. Would use them again.
I can recommend them for wallpaper removal, but  they also did additional work on wall prep and plaster repair that I will review separately.

The wallpaper removal part took two days.  The owner Rick came out and supervised the team of three workers.  The paper was successfully removed and the wall surfaces prepared for painting.  One room in particular presented challenges to removal.  They persisted and did  all necessary work to prepare the surfaces for painting.
After the two day wall paper removal, we had them completely paint our home.  The home is 2440 square feet.  Rick said it would take ten days to complete.  The job finished right on schedule.    Each day the workers would ask if we spotted any problems.  They were most accommodating and addressed all issues.  During the job, the owner came out every other day to our home to check on the progress.  At the end of the job, Rick said they would return and rectify any problem areas that we saw after they left.  They nicely left extra touch up paint for us and gave us the exact formula for the paint that was used.  They worked beyond painting to correct improper installation of crown molding that I had done.  They also fixed problems in cracked drywall and fixed a sagging cupboard  The whole job was well done and I am completely satisfied

The house we purchased was covered in wallpaper.  We began to remove the paper and it seemed  easy until we realized that the glue was not coming off and we would need to scrub the walls.  We began to do that until we noticed the drywall was flaking away and it was very tedious.  We called Franks and the owner came out.  He was wearing a security outfit, we figured he moonlights as security and gave us a reasonable quote.  The workers he sent over were extremely hardworking and did a fantastic job.  When they were leaving they even helped me load some old carpet into a dumpster. I would definitely recommend them.

Owner showed up two hours after his workers in a security guard uniform. Checked out the job and wasn't seen again.

He gave a lower quote at the beginning, at the last he asked for much more money, he said they did a lot of things, but I never asked them to do, he never told me how much he would charge for what work. Actually, it was not worthy, because they painted very bad, not professional, for example,  the same wall appeared two colors, forgot to paint in some area, it took a long time (3 weeks) to finish painting.

They should stick to wallpapering because their painting division stinks. The price was the only thing good about this experience. I guess you get what you pay for. They left paint on the windows that we had to scrape off. We had small droplets of paint on the floor that they did not clean up. We also had many spots that need touching up. They came out to do the touch ups and they still did not do it right. My wife and I ended up finishing the touch-ups ourselves.
