David Ritchie Painting

I recently took the advice of my realtor to use David Ritchie Painting to prepare my house for listing on the market. He has assisted homeowners prepare their properties for sale for many years and garnered a stellar reputation in the realtor world. David's work was spot on! He is a high communicator that kept his word on when he would arrive for the quoting process and once retained, would keep me posted on his arrival and departure times. During the quoting process he saw things that I didn't. Pointing out colors and paint types that would work best in my application. He saw wall defects that he could (and did) incorporate into the quote. He even included caulking where needed. His work was immaculate. David used multiple coats of paint, dealing with wallpaper and water stains. He even switched between water based paint and oil based paint and primers based on the application. As he completed the paint work he promptly cleaned up after each room was finished. Not a spot of errant paint to be found. On a personal note; David is a friendly contractor that appreciates building a rapport with his clients. I trusted David enough to give him run of the house while I was at work. I recommend David Ritchie Painting wholeheartedly.

Not only did David do flawless work painting our walls and ceiling, but he is also very personable and friendly. It was an absolute pleasure to do business with David and we are already planning to hire David for additional painting in the summer!

David was amazing! Of all the quotes I received, his was the most detailed and he asked questions along the way to ensure he understood what I needed. He was punctual and accommodating. I am a very detailed person, so notice...everything, and he was very receptive to my questions and concerns along the way.

He did a great job with the wall paper removal and painting. I had to point out some spots that needed further spackling work otherwise I think he might have overlooked them. I think he could have done a better job of cleaning up. Left a fair amount of sanding dust in my bathrooms so I will have to deep clean and mop the floors in order to put the house on the market. I suppose that is to be expected, he is a painter after all, NOT a house cleaning service. I suggest that he should carry a small shop vac in his truck, that would help with cleanup. He was prompt, courteous, and friendly throughout the whole job. His pricing was fair and he did give me a better price on wall paper stripping (by the hour) than one of the other contractors I had quote the job. Overall, I would recommend and use him again in the future.

Mr. Ritchie was very friendly, professional, and detail-oriented. He did a wonderful job removing the existing wallpaper and chair rail in my daughter's bedroom, and then painting my daughter's bedroom to her and quot;specificationsand quot;. Even though her specific color requests, etc., seemed somewhat strange to him, he went along with it, and my daughter couldn't be happier! Although his quote was a bit higher than another that we received, I believe you get what you pay for, and he was worth the little bit extra that we could have saved going with someone else. It was also difficult to find someone who was willing/able to take down the wallpaper AND do the painting (rather than hiring two separate contractors, he was willing/able to do BOTH jobs). I would definitely use him again in the future!!

He is very professional, and works at a good pace. I hadn't hired any painting done before, so really didn't have any idea what it would cost. I got one other quote, which was similar, but that painter couldn't do the job as quickly as I needed it done. David did a good job at a fair price. I'll probably ask him to work for me again.

David fit me into his schedule on short notice, arrived promptly, prepped thoroughly, painted neatly, cleaned up well. He worked quickly, and did a great job! This is the first time I'd ever hired anyone to paint for me, and I'm very satisfied.
