$650
I regret calling this company. I have attached two pictures, try and guess which one was before and which one is after me spending $650. 1. I brought them out to do a poly lift and fill for the slab leading up to my porch and the area under the porch. I needed two things done, bolstering and filling the space under my porch to prevent damage to my porch or foundation, and I needed them to fix the giant crack between my porch and sidewalk. I was told in the estimate this was all doable. We agree that they will lift and poly fill the four slabs leading up to my porch so it is even, and they will fill and bolster under the porch itself. 2. I pay the deposit, half of the total cost, up front to begin work. The day comes and I let the guys know I would love to see what it looks like when it's done, give me a knock on the door and I'll come check it out. They leave without telling me, which should have been my first red flag, and I go to check out their work. Had they not drilled a dozen ugly holes 1-2" wide in my sidewalk and porch, which I was told would be no bigger than a dime, I would not have even known they were here. 3. We go back and forth for another 2 weeks discussing what will be done to remedy this, and they end up sending another guy out to add more material underneath the porch, which I was appreciative of at the time, but when he left I once again could not tell that anything was even done. I still have a huge gap under my porch, the giant crack is still there, and now I have a dozen patched holes leading up to my house as a daily reminder not to call Kent Home Services again. 4. After further discussion over what can be done to remedy this, they tell me that they are unable to perform the job as agreed upon, will be wiping the remainder of my bill (something I appreciate, but had I known the end result I would never have called them and would have just bought 2 bags of Quickrete and done the job myself for a fraction of the cost and time), and we will be done talking about it. 5. On top of this, they took my fancy hose nozzle with them and left me with my standard hose nozzle. This isn't even a big deal to me, it's $25, but it's the principle of it. When questioned about this they told me that the foreman took a look around and they couldn't find it. This was the last communication I received from them. Again, I implore you to try and guess which picture is before and which is after. If you can easily tell, and have several unused hose nozzles laying around, then Kent Home Services is the company for you. If you can't tell, neither can I, but you didn't have to spend $650 to figure that out.

Less than year after our driveway was completed and has cracking and holes ALL over it. Very upsetting as this is one of the first projects we did on our house we purchased. Kent claims it’s from salt damage and it isn’t their problem. Terrible customer service. We never parked cars on it permanently and treated it well. So upsetting as my kids like to ride their bikes in our driveway. Just so disappointed.

Unfortunately I can’t give 0 stars. We had a driveway extension done last summer. We were originally satisfied with the work done, however over winter the concrete broke apart and continues to deteriorate. It’s full of deep holes and is now the worst part of our driveway despite the rest being 25+ years old. After contacting Kent Home Services, we were told it was due to salt damage and would not be covered under the warranty. After explaining that we didn’t salt, only shoveled, and rarely even parked on the extension, they declined to correct the problem. They claimed it was from our cars, even though we didn’t park on it. They were lined up with excuse after excuse as to why it wasn’t covered, ultimately claiming “Michigan Weather” as the result. Again, all other concrete work has lasted 25 years without issue. While we followed the recommendations listed under their warranty, they declined to honor it. I’d understand if there were a few chips or small cracks, but the entire extension is falling apart. It’s absolute junk. Not even suitable for the kids to play on as we had hoped. It's clear this is poor quality work. I can’t not recommend them enough. I’m incredibly disappointed that we’ve wasted thousands of dollars. If you’re looking for a company with integrity, go elsewhere.

$775
I contracted Kent Home Services to perform mudjacking for our front sidewalk. Their quote stated they would lift 6 slabs (with included step) for a cost of $775. After their work was done, they only lifted 5 of the slabs. I contacted them and asked why only 5 slabs were lifted, and would I be refunded a fair partial amount for the work not performed. I got the response: "I spoke with our foreman on the job yesterday. Everything was raised except the step as it wasn't needed". They ignored the part about a refund... So I contacted again, asking about a fair partial refund, since their contract that I had to sign, states: This Estimate, including, without limitation, the price and scope, may not be modified except by a written change order signed by both KHS and Customer. It has been 2 weeks and they have not contacted me about a refund. They don't adhere to their own contract. If I would have wanted to add a slab, they wouldn't do it for free, but if they don't want to do one, the price remains the same. The president of the company received the email, because I received an "out of office" automated response. But he doesn't care, because he never responded. I gave them 2 stars, because it is better than it was, but it's not even close to level... See attached photos for walk after work was performed. As you can see the one slab(4) has a large gap along footing of garage, don't know why they do not try to tap it over, to be closer, while raising it (but maybe that's not possible?), But you can see the gap from slab 3 to 4 with the level not touching #4. So it still needed to go higher. And on the end slabs 5 & 6, they only lifted one side of it so the level is pegged with the bubble to one side. When you stand on it, it feels like it is tipped heavily. The outside should have also been raised up. I understand you don't want it level, but it shouldn't also feel like it's downhill when standing on it. All said, I would NEVER recommend this company for any type of work. They have NO INTEGRITY. They don't perform to the quoted work, that you agree to pay for. And honestly, the work wasn't even performed well. I don't expect perfection, but my sidewalk slabs should be level-ish and they should remove all the potential trip hazards... Since that was the whole point of mudjacking.

Review of Kent Home Services as posted. Buyer beware!! Do not let this company or any employees ON YOUR PROPERTY. They are not worthy of your business. The Job Inspector/Estimator (Justin I believe) is worthless. He thinks he is the guru of concrete but shows extraordinarily little knowledge and his customer relations are horrible. The workers that completed a $3500.00 void fill job on my concrete driveway worked hard and stayed on the job. Although, I told them not to inject too much material under one section as it will raise the concrete. Guess what, they inserted too much material and caused a section of the concrete to be lifted. Prior to their work I had sealed the joint with backing rod and Nova Link self-leveling concrete caulk which is the finest professional concrete caulk on the market. I contacted the company and behold who did they send out but the Estimator. While on my property he did not come to the doo! Go figure!!??. Several days later I receive a phone call from the owner Matt who proceeds to tell me the road is uneven where it meets the concrete, so I need to contact the Township/Municipality. What? That is BS! Matt does not have any customer relation skills. I did make payments to pay the bill (Total of 3500.00 and I did sign a contract). Then the owner sends a note that he is going to small claims court to get the final $400.00!! (A threat!) DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! There are other reputable concrete companies. Do not use this company for any of your concrete needs! Second Review of Kent Home Services 17 Dec 20 DO NOT CONDUCT ANY BUSINESS WITH KENT HOME SERVICES!!! Please read my prior negative review that was posted for Kent Home Services. This company is one of the WORST I have ever dealt with. Kent Home Service is dishonest with zero integrity. I owed the company $400.00. I sent them a check for $100.00 on November 30, 2020. The check was not cashed. I received a phone call from Melissa (I believe in Accounting) and she left a voice mail on December 10, 2020. It states” “Hi David Melissa with Kent Home Services just touching base with you I received your letter with the invoice however there was not a check in there for $100. (I had written that in the letter enclosed) I wanted to make sure you sent that with your invoice so we have not received that so just touching base with you I can be reached at 616-209-3608 thanks and have a good day…” So, I write her a new check for the 100.00 and an additional check for $300 which pays the bill. Guess what…Melissa LIED as on December 16, 2020; three checks hit my checking account for a total of $500.00 which is $100.00 more than I owed. I called twice and left a voice mail for Melissa and Matt (the owner) to call me back. No return phone call. Sent an email, no return email. Employees that lie should be immediately fired and further a company that allows employees to lie should not be in business. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON! December 21, 2020 Third Review of Kent Concrete Please read my prior Reviews. Be very wary of using Kent Home Services for your concrete needs. The owner, Matt did refund an overpayment of $100.00 upon completion of a very pointed discussion. (Good for him)! This is the only positive action out of an extremely poor situation. The bottom line is that Melissa (accounting) lied to me about receiving my check. She told me via a telephone call the check was not in the envelope and the envelope had not been tampered with. I sent a check to replace that one and an additional check to pay the bill due in full. Then all three checks are cashed at the same time as per my bank. I questioned Matt regarding this, but he covered for her. I want a phone call from Melissa explaining to me why she LIED. REMEMBER: a company/organization is only as good as its worst employee! An employee that lies to customers must be fired! My hunch and I do not have any proof is that Melissa was instructed to cash all three checks and then she was thrown under the bus when I called the owner about the over payment. BUYER BEWARE! Kent Home Services in my opinion is not reputable, lacks honesty and integrity. The work completed meets minimum standards!

The work was done in August of 2016. I am now finally getting around to writing this assessment because the experience was that bad. I simply wanted nothing more to do with Kent Concrete. However, people do need to be advised when looking for concrete work so I decided I should write a review. Kent Concrete was actually recommended to me; I cannot pass that recommendation along. Overall, the quality of work was poor and there were continued problems with communication, resulting in one very dissatisfied customer. The person I spoke to about the job/work would convey that information to the actual guys doing the work. You can already see a problem with that. There was an issue where the concrete was not level, resulting in a big puddle whenever it rained. I complained about that, but they failed to correct it. Instead, I was given an explanation as to why it could not be level. Huh? How is that? It was level before. That made no sense then and makes no sense now. After the fact, I spoke to several people who could find no plausible explanation as to why this specific area was not level. To this date, two years later, the same issue happens all of the time when it rains. My only option would be to have someone else redo that area to correct the problem. GREAT!! They also poured steps wider than I wanted, demolished some expensive landscaping, and skim coated concrete "skirting" that lasted about four months before it started cracking again. Oh, and before I forget, I still have a couple of areas in my backyard where someone spilled some concrete and never cleaned it up. The guys who mow my lawn love that. I could go on, but I won't. In all fairness, some money was deducted from my bill because of my dissatisfaction with the project. However, as I said to the division manager of Kent Concrete, I would have much rather paid full price for everything and been completely satisfied than to have received subpar work at a discount.

It went excellent! They dug under the slab beneath each post and installed brackets on each post and helical piers deep into the ground (12 feet in our case but they can go up to 25 feet) and added cement under the slab. They even lifted the slab where it had sunk back to its original position. The piers are also adjustable and they showed us how, by cranking large bolts attached to the brackets which sit on top of the piers. The porch will never move again (and it is guaranteed), so we can fill in the cracks and they will not happen again. When they were done they put back the dirt they had dug out and cleaned up the area well. We had gotten inspections and estimates from several other foundation repair companies and none of them had the knowledge and experience that this company has. They are the manufacturer of the helical pier systems and they also provide installation services as well. We are so pleased with the job they did and had such an excellent working experience with everyone we dealt with, from the sales person to the office staff to the foreman and service workers.

Kent Home Services removed the old concrete and replaced with new. The slabs were of good quality. I had one minor hiccup in that the new concrete was slightly higher than the surrounding old concrete. Kent Home Services came out, examined, and raised the adjacent slabs to match. The result was perfect. I believe KHS stands by their work and takes each customer experience seriously.

  •  Crew shows up without supervisor , does not reference job print nor put down plywood sheets to protect grass .
  • Proceeds to incorrectly saw concrete in wrong geometry . 2 of the crew leave , say they are coming back & never do . Damage my grass significantly . Supervisor finally shows says everything is wrong . Will be back & do it right . Never heard from then again .
  • Called 2 times to ask why , no response . Am left with a complete mess on my hands with no solution .
