Over the years our clients have trusted us to do the work on their homes. I am proud to say we keep our projects in budget and on time. We are always asked to do different things in their homes, so if you do not see it listed just ask. Our estimates are free and can be given to you over the phone (most cases). We service Metro Detroit and beyond. I will provide you with a written estimate and have my crews do an outstanding job. I will review their progress and quality.

Derrick is fantastic. Skilled, professional, courteous, kind, helpful, timely. Derrick painted our whole house and I feel like he treated the job as though it was his own home. This project went great. Peninsula was very professional, respectful and seemed invested in doing the best for my project and helping walk me through my options. I was grateful for their guidance where they actually turned away more expensive options and helped me get results in the most economical manner. I really appreciate the great rapport and found them very trustworthy and I was comfortable with their respect of my home and property. We bought the promotional package 'painter for a day' and received Derrick's response the next day. He showed up on time and did an excellent job to paint out 10-feet high library. He covered everything before starting and put all the furniture back after completion. I highly recommend him and will definitely use him again in the future.

I had just purchased a home and moving into it in a few days. I contacted Derrick from Peninsula Contracting for an estimate. He came out right away. I told him that I needed it done within three days. He showed up two days later on time, he completed the bedroom as promised, and it looks perfect.
Derrick was very professional, I felt comfortable leaving him alone to do his job.
I have many more projects that need to be done and will not hesitate to use him in the future.

It was fine. On some aspects of it, they were very good. They were very, very flexible in terms of scheduling. There was a disconnect between the day they came out to do the evaluation and when they came to actually do the service. That was largely on me. But, when I called back to schedule the time, they were very flexible and very open. But there was also a disconnect in terms of expectations. When they came out to look at the places, there were no issues or problems or anything that came up. Whereas, when people came out to actually do the work - it was different people than the person who came out to do the estimate - they were like, "Well, it really should have only been this and it really should have only been that." A lot of those kinds of things.

"Hello, After numerous scheduling changes, when the project was ready, I was on another job site that I could not get out of. The reason for the disconnect on your project was due to the fact that you purchased a specific "big deal" program that included only one coat of paint. After painting the one coat my painter contacted me and said that it would need another coat, (some colors are very difficult to cover one coat). He was then directed to put another coat on and not to charge you anything for the extra paint and labor. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review."

We had just done remodeling in our kitchen and needed the walls, ceiling

going to do it but was unable. The paint was already purchased.
Derrick Diacono responded immediately to my inquiry on the phone. He came out

Great Lakes Decor was very prompt in keeping appointments, confirmed the date of service 1 week and 1 day prior to painting. They were very professional and respectful of not damaging any property that was in adjoining rooms not being painted. When reviewing the paint color against the sample provided, I noticed a significant color difference - they returned the paint right away for a correct color blend without any questions. There was a team of two painters and they completed the work within a half-day; very, very happy with the end result. The corners and edges are straight - can tell they are pros at what they do; this wasn't their first attempt at painting interiors! We have talked to Derick about painting additional rooms this winter - highly recommend!

When we moved to MI and year ago Derrick painted our entire home, removed wallpaper, tile work and painted our island. He does amazing work! He is very professional. Great to work with and has great ideas. We were sad to see him leave when the job was done. Thanks to a new puppy we needed wall repairs! Derrick went above and beyond while fixing all the damage. His work is flawless.
We enjoy and trust him so much we didn't even get any other estimates for the job. I would 100 % recommend him!

Our overall experience was very positive. Derrick was very responsive in providing the quote and was able to schedule the services earlier than the other companies I had contacted. This was very much appreciated as we wanted to get the painting completed in a small window of time before obtaining possession of our home and moving in.

We solicited bids from three painters and Great Lakes came in near the lowest, but they were able to schedule us earlier. At every step, Derrick or his team arrived exactly when they said they would. They took extra care with our shrubs and flowers and the quality of the work was good. Our late changes were handled promptly and professionally.

We solicited bids from three painters and Great Lakes came in equal to the lowest bidder. They were by far the most prompt and thorough in the estimating process. At every step, Derrick or his team showed up exactly when they said they would. The quality of the work was good and they took extra care with our just-refinished hardwood floors. Our late changes were handled in a prompt and professional way.
