We refer to this group as “Never Again Nelligan.” Their work was sloppy and they cut corners with materials wherever possible. They refused to come out to repair their shoddy work and it took us more than a year to make those repairs ourselves.

I would not recommend Nelligans Outdoor Servies, LLC / Nelligans Hardscaping. Don Nelligan is a good salesman but lacks customer relationship skills. He and his crew seem to only seem to care about how fast they can complete the job and collect payment vs. the quality of his team's work.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of professionalism this company displayed and the work that they performed. Upon first meeting with Don Nelligan, we had discussed our project in length and even provided him a rendering of what we wanted. After getting us on the books and paying our deposit, we quickly became on the back burner. He became irritated with us when we asked when the project would start. After he finally started, he and his son were rarely seen at the site and didn't follow our rendering. Specifically: we wanted our patio to have a curve which he made a straight edge, we wanted a brick paver walkway to the stairs which he decided to put stairs all the way down and we wanted three very clearly defined tiers on our hill to which he didn't follow. Each time we discussed these issues with him, he became very irate, unprofessional and verbally perverse. At the end of the 2 week project (which we were told would be less than a week) we were still unhappy about one of our tiers. Again, another fight ensued where he began to personally attack my husband and refused to do the work specifying it was "exactly what we asked for" and he "wasn't going to do extra work for free". Our final payment was due but we asked that he finish the project before payment (which was our agreement) and he threatened us with a lawyer and stated we were ridiculous. I would never use this company again nor recommend them to anyone. The customer service side is non-existent and they didn't take the time to really understand what we wanted. Unless you want to micromanage the project, I wouldn't hire them. What you communicate to Don (owner) and Dan (his son) never makes it to the contractors doing the work, nor do they show up on the site to ensure it is being done properly.

The patio is falling apart less than a month after installation. We cant even use the steps. The whole thing needs to be torn down and redone. Numerous attempts have resulted in no solutions. I would never use this company again. Very unprofessional.

They were prompt and professional. They removed the mess that was left by another contractor, dug the beach area out, leveled it and added a stone retaining wall, stairs and new beach sand. They added a drainage system so the beach and area would not wash out again. They re-leved the area all around the beach area removing a lot of the crevices that had developed. They were hard workers and really cared about us being happy with the job they did. They consulted with us more than once during the project to make sure we were happy with the job as it progressed. We would and we will hire them again for our next project. Their pricing is very fair and we are VERY happy with the results! GREAT JOB!
