They are very good. They were very professional, they did a good job scraping and painting, the metal casings look really good where they were replacing around the rotted wood.

This was the first time I ever used a contractor to paint my house because I usually try to save money and do it myself on home improvement projects.  I was very busy with work and so I thought I would try using a contractor this time.  They came out and gave me a quote, and I decided to have them do it.  I honestly did not expect the personal and friendly attention. The owner of the company came to my house for the quote -- he was prompt and very nice (and looked clean and professional).  They completed everything on time and it felt good because I didn't have to pay anything until the whole job was done (I've gotten burned before by this).  Also - I am a pretty picky person and pay attention to the details, like corners and along baseboard.  I usually feel awkward asking contractors to be careful because I sometimes get signals like they are irritated or annoyed when you ask them to be careful and make it look "right."  The two painters who came out (Jim and his partner) were super nice and never made me feel like I was asking for something unreasonable (this alone is worth using them again).  They were actually fun to talk to -- and they always took their shoes off and didn't smell like smoke.  I was also impressed that they always parked in the street so I could come and go as needed.  Another thing I did that I've never done before - I trusted them inside my house when I wasn't there.  During the first day of painting I worked from home because I didn't know them.  For the remaining days, I told them where the key was and they came and left as needed - and locked up when they left.  Jim also patched a crack in my baseboard without asking or charging me extra.  I will definitely use Somerset again because they were on-time, did excellent work, and never once made me feel weird or uncomfortable with the process.  Very professional crew -- and for that I am very happy and will definitely use them next time.

This is the best Painting company hands down! They are very professional and have great customer service. I called Somerset painting two weeks before my move-in date into my new home and I needed my house painted prior to my family moving in and they were able to accommodate my needs and get my house done within that week and I was able to move into my new home in time with no worries. no other company offered me that fast service. The painters came in and did a wonderful job! they were precise and very neat. It was also very refreshing to not have to clean up after they left. They put everything back and I was very impressed. I would recommend Somerset painting to anyone that is looking for a great painting company to do the job right!

Working with Rick and his team exceeded my expectations. He provided an estimate shortly after we asked for one and within a week his team was on my front lawn prepping the house. To put that in perspective, other companies were telling me I'd have to wait 4-6 weeks and then the job would take multiple weeks to do. Somerset had my house completely finished in less than a week. It was incredible and every time we are outside, we run into a neighbor that compliments us on the way the house looks now. I want to make note of two other things. First, Rick is one of the first contractors I've worked with that actually embraces communication over email. So many people want to do all communication in person and that's difficult for those of us with traditional work hours. His team did all of the design work and ran renderings by us via email too. Very helpful in keeping the project moving. Second, Rick publicly supports important causes and I give him credit for sharing those with his customers. That's not always easy to do in today's social climate.

I could not be happier that I selected Summerset to replace my Siding for the entire house and do the caulking and painting. The company from the top to bottom did an outstanding job. The price was competitive. They provided me the details of their standards in the agreement signed, prior to their work. They met all parts of that agreement. The crew included Shaun and John who worked daily in Winter weather, They were always prompt and courteous, and pleasant to work with. Their goal appeared to be to do quality work. and please the home owner. I will be a very happy to hire them again for my next job, when it is available.

All went well. Rick was professional and detailed in describing the work, and providing a quote. The guys that did the work were also professional. I am a widow and this is the first major home improvement decision I had to make without my husband. Rick inspired confidence that the job would be done correctly and it was. The finished product is excellent.

We were very happy with the mason work that was performed on our back porch today. He was very prompt with coming out to give us an estimate and also prompt on getting us on the schedule. Not only did he do a beautiful job but it far exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much!

So many mistakes were made in the painting of our stairway that we finally just gave up to take care of the fixing of the shoddy work. The workers were messy; spilling paint on our carpet, leaving paint lids on our piano, leaving their half eaten food on our kitchen counter... and they left none of the remaining paint behind for us to do touch ups. We've had so many things done to our home and have had so many different people work on our house and this experience was the worst of ANY experience we've ever had. We are so upset an disappointed in Eric's company and are left scratching out heads as to why they turned into this type of an operation.

The work was very good. Rick and his painters were very polite and professional. They made an effort to do exactly what we wanted and worked hard, barely stopping until the job was finished. All the surfaces came out smooth and well-covered.

GREAT! Everything was done as discussed, in a timely manner and all expectations met. Everything talked about prior to the project was completed and confirmed. Painting of the entire space was complete within 4 hours. 

I was outside and noticed a jagged hole along one of the trim boards fairly high up around the chimney. I was able to get some plastic around it, but needed a better repair. I called Somerset Painting and Home Improvements, as they had done some work for me in the past. Rick provided a quote and informed me that it was the minimum they could charge for that work, but asked if there was other smaller jobs that could be done while they were out. I suggested that they could remove a roof-mounted dish satellite antenna that was not being used. Somerset was able to schedule the work on a Friday when I would be home. It was a really cold day, but the work was done as scheduled. While the repair wasn’t painted (we didn’t have any paint that matched), it does appear to be well sealed to prevent any further damage. The satellite antenna was also taken down and the holes sealed. Overall, I am very satisfied with the work that Somerset did and glad that they were able repair it in a timely manner.

This is my second time working with Somerset Painting & Professional Improvements. Both times the quality of work has been excellent! Will hire them again (and plan to). This time the work was subcontracted out, but still a top-notch company showed up to do the job. They were on-time and did a pristine job cleaning up after themselves and very responsive to touch-up work needed to be done... They showed up on Thanksgiving morning and were in & out in under 20-minutes. Great job! Very satisfied!!

I have used Somerset in the past and I have always been very pleased with their work and their customer service. My recent interaction with the owner, Mr. Rick Hartsell demonstrated how committed to customer service and going above and beyond for their customers this company is on a consistent basis. My garage door was damaged by accident by my postal carrier when she was driving her truck. The door needed to be replaced and needed to be painted before the winter season set in. I contacted Somerset and spoke with the owner Rick directly. He advised all his employees were booked and unable to perform the job since it was late in the season. Imagine my surprise when he advised he could perform the job himself so I would not be left in a bind. As the owner of a very busy company, this is not something Rick normally does anymore but he was willing to go the extra mile for a customer. He quoted me a fair price and came to the home quickly and performed an excellent job. I am very grateful there are still owners and companies that put customers first and truly know the meaning of customer service.

When I set out on my search for a contractor to replace the gutters, soffit and facia on my house i was not expecting to struggle to get a call back. That all changed when i came upon Somerset. They were prompt in their quote and very patient to explain the work that was needed in great detail. They were accomodating as I increased the scope of my project to include wrapping my windows in aluminum. The team showed up as planned and were absolute true masters at their craft every step of the way. Surely not the least expensive of the quotes, but this was a job where i chose quality of craftmanship as a key driver. i would highly recommend them for your next project. .

Somerset does great work! Rick H, the owner, came and did the estimate. He is gracious and professional. The painting was done by Jonathan Martinez and his crew and they are outstanding. The project took two days and included the removal of a structure around one of the windows. I highly recommend Somerset and this particular crew.
