Pat was extremely professional, courteous, and responsive. The report was provided in a timely manner, was extremely detailed with photos, and he brought to light a few issues that we had missed on our own - saving us thousands of dollars. He has also been very responsive when we called him asking for referrals and for advice on minor issues that came up (we moved from a condo, so were first-time building owners).

Missed issues with sump pump, crawl space water seepage, and foundation. Would never recommend as I am now left with over 20k in repair costs.
Response from NORTON INSPECTION CO
"Inspection report included evidence of previous crawl space leakage and/or flooding with pictures. Crawl space was not flooded at inspection and sump pump was working properly at the inspection. Possible crawl space leakage and or flooding was not a surprise. No information or evidence was provided to Norton Inspection Co. about any structural issue that was visible at the time of the inspection and "needed" repair."

I was very nervous shopping around for a home inspector. I found Norton and was very pleased with the services. He was very thorough and spent several hours inspecting our future home. As a nervous first time homebuyer, I felt assured that we can handle the items to be fixed and weren't buying a lemon!
Most impressive was the on-the-spot full report you receive. It details all the recommendations, observations, etc in a nicely organized binder to take home immediately following the inspection.
I would definitely use Norton again and highly recommend them.

My son is trying to buy his first home and found a newer townhouse style condominium. The owner is selling as a short sale so we needed to have a home inspection done within five days of the offer being accepted. I originally found Norton Inspections on goggle and then checked him out on Angie's LIst. He received high ratings so I gave him a call. He has an answering service that will answer the phone 24/7 so you can call anytime it is convenient for you. I needed to try to coordinate the time of inspection between the realtor, the home owner and us with the inspection and only had 3 days left to do it. Mr. Norton was very accommodating and even came at a special time (between his usual appointment times) so everyone who had to be there could be. He arrived on time (even before we got there) and went right to work. He did a very through job. He printed up a copy of his report and gave it to us right on the spot. It was in a hard copy binder, very professional. I like that he uses an infrared scanner as part of his inspection to find hidden moisture.

Patrick was quick to respond to phone calls and was able to setup an appointment in the timeframe we needed. Patrick did a thorough inspection. We started on the outside of the home and identified some general maintance issues. We then covered the home top-to-bottom reviewing the attic, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, doors/windows, electric, plumbing (basic checks), etc. What I like about Patrick was that he does use an infrared camera to see if there are any non-visible water issues (which helped build my confidence), and also uses an electronic radon monitor (which is different from many other typical radon tests). Patrick's use of technology is good and his report is produced on-site for you. What I felt could have been improved was only a few small things: 1) a little better explanation of what he was reviewing or what the tests were doing while going through the home, and 2) a report that incorporates pictures into it so that it even easier to discuss with homeowner (this is a balance between Patrick wanting to deliver the report to his customers asap and it taking a day longer to assemble). There were follow-ups to review with Patrick which he was quick to respond to and help out. I was satisfied with the service overall and would not have any issues recommending him to others.

The inspector arrived before time, and was very knowledgable, courteous, and professional. His 20 years of experience was evident. He kept talking to me as the customer with whatever he noticed and also provided advice on repair options and cost estimates. I followed with him through out the inspection. After the inspection he composed his report at the site on a laptop and provided a binder with a printout from his portable printer. He offered to conduct a radon inspection and I agreed considering it he offered a discount over requesting one done separately at another time. He provided both reports together by email/PDF after the 2-day radon level inspection and explained the EPA guidelines on action required levels. He was available to answer any questions at the inspection and after and was cheerful through out. He satisfactorily explained to me the various types of radon testers and lack of a standard EPA test. I felt very saftisfied with the inspections and knowledge of test methods and building code and regulations.

Pat did a thorough inspection of a home we are purchasing. He was conscientious and diligent, friendly, but to the point. Using his infrared camera, he detected and DOCUMENTED a leak in the upstairs bathtub drain that was not visible by sight inspection alone. He provided us with a detailed report. Excellent inspection service.

Excellent. Saved us $10,000 by informing us a new roof was needed. Very thorough inspection, backed up by very detailed inspection report. Professional, detailed inspector with a pleasant attitude; great to work with.
