Matt does excellent work. Initially, he was hired to tear out a wet bar, install drywall and remodel the adjoining laundry room. He takes pride in his work and is very detailed and methodical in his approach. We were so happy with the results, I asked him if he would do other work we needed to have done - install security cameras and tv wall mount, caulk the interior and exterior of home, etc.,. Again, the same attention to detail and getting it right. Matt is now a friend and our go to guy.

Everything went excellently but that is always the case when Matt performs the work! He is a perfectionist in all areas and I never feel like I have to oversee what he is doing. Totally trustworthy with access to the house when I am gone. He is hands down the only contractor I will use for any home issues!

We were looking to fully remodel the kitchen in our historic home and wanted to find a craftsman who would do a meticulous job while showing our home the same respect we have for her. After meetings with many prospective contractors, we selected Matt. He was really the only contractor we met that had everything we were looking for—and he really delivered for us! Matt exhibited the right combination of skill and delicacy in tearing out and remodeling our kitchen. He was even genuinely excited to see the old-world craftsmanship with which our home was built once he removed the atrocious flooring that was there. Although he worked very gently on our kitchen, he still worked very quickly. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were always top notch. He also made great suggestions along the way and kept us informed daily of his progress. Matt was a joy to work with throughout the project and the quality of his work exceeded even our high standards. He also completed the job within our agreed upon timeline and priced his work very reasonably. We’d definitely hire Matt again. In fact, we’re planning to for our next remodeling project!

Originally I planned to install my kitchen cabinets myself. I am so glad I hired Sodonis Group to do it instead. The cabinets, the trim, the molding, and the spacers were all installed perfectly. Matt did an excellent job and was very easy to work with. There was a small delay in the schedule due to an unforeseen issue that popped up at another job. Matt more than made up for it by going above and beyond and completing a few out of scope tasks. Overall I was very happy and would hire Matt again.

Matt did an amazing job. His communication was great, letting us know what he was getting done and why he was doing it. My wife and I just had a baby days before, and he was very considerate of our time, and also let us know if he has going to be doing anything super loud that may disturb the baby. Will definitely hire again for my next project.

Matt and I had a verbal agreement for him to do 3 things; replace a light bulb, hang a 3-panel picture and construct/build a enclosure at the bottom of my stairs so my pets could not get into the finished basement. When Matt arrived he did hang the 3 panel picture and change the light bulb but was reluctant to build the pet enclosure as it was his opinion it could not be done. He then charged me the full amount of the verbal agreement asking $180 to change a light bulb and hang a picture. When I inquired about this, he said I owed it to him. I had a similar experience with Matt when he remodeled my family room and basement. It was in the contract that he would be responsible for paint. I purchased some of the paint and when I inquired with him he said I owed it to him because I changed colors. No paint had yet been purchased for the area. Matt is excellent at what he does and I would recommend him but you should be careful to ensure you have everything in writing and stick closely to the contract. Because of concern with Matt's ethics, I will not be using him further. You may not encounter this with him but it was my experience. Matt will most likely reply with some rational on why what I have stated is not accurate but it absolutely is. I have no reason to fabricate anything like this.

"Yikes! Better respond "rationally" again. First, I would like to express my appreciation for [Member Name Removed] showing her true colors 8 months after leaving a good review for her $11,000 project we finished, which at no time during the project, were my ethics in question. She mentions being charged twice for paint because of a color change. Paying for the paint was agreed upon by her to help compensate for all the additional work she requested and had nothing to do with changing a color. Charging a customer twice for paint when they change the color before the paint is purchased sounds a little crazy. Why would a customer agree to that? I also find it a little fishy that this negative review shows up 8 months after the work was completed. Our agreement was to consult, design, and build a barrier for her two ferrets she lets roam the house. After reviewing her design, my "ethics" didn't want her to waste her money on something that would fail. (note she sent me pictures of ferret feces on her new carpet 2 weeks later) After spending 1 hr 45 min designing a new system for her and explaining why her design would fail (Yes, I timed it so she could be charged accordingly) she rejected it. [Member Name Removed] paid in full. However, I received a phone call from her a couple days later with this complaint, where it was explained to her exactly how it is explained in this response. It seems a little strange that I would nickel and dime her on $180 handyman invoice, after she just spent $11,000 with us. If you look at all the other reviews, [Member Name Removed] is the anomaly here. Without customers, my business would not exist. Which is why I go above and beyond to take care of them. I'm happy to hear she will not be using us again! So, if you're feeling a little crazy, like you want to live on the edge, and receive a "rational" quote from a "rational" contractor, give me a call, or shoot me an email. I would use them again. I wouldn't use anybody else. They didn't subcontract anything out. The primary worker was Matt Sodonis. He is the owner and did most of the work, and he is awesome. They couldn't improve on much. Everything was done exceptionally well. Everyone who comes down here and looks is extremely impressed.

There is only one guy, his name is Matt Sodonis and it was a pretty awesome experiemce! He is very good, listens to the customer, provides very good suggestions and will go out of his way for the customer. We got to discuss design together, so we were both very opened minded. He did a family room and a basement.
He started the first week of October, he has still got to come back and finish some stuff up. That is why I haven?t written a review.
He was contracted to furniture and we are waiting on some carpeting to go in, so he can come back and move the furniture and some little touch ups. But, I did intend to write something for him. I would recommend him!
But one thing to note is that because it is one person, the project may take longer than it would with a crew. As long as the customer knows that up front and has the patient and the ability to accommodate that, he is a very good contractor.
One thing about Matt is that he doesn?t do flooring. So, I had to bring in another company to install hardwood and to come in and carpet.
Very reasonable price. I would use him again and in fact I have got him slated to do a bathroom for me.

"Please allow me to clear up a few things up. We are definitely more than one person. I myself do some of the work, along with a 2nd guy. My 2nd guy quit 1 month before her project started, and we are currently looking to replace him. Having such high standards for our quality of work, this is not a process we rush through. We also have a team of 3rd generation tile guys, a licensed plumber, two licensed electricians (both who were on [Member Name Removed]'s project), and an Interior Designer. Sodonis Group LLC prides itself on taking the time to give you an exceptional finished product. Renovation is a different ballgame than new construction, we usually have to fix previously incorrect work in order for our work to meet our standards. When a customer makes changes to the original scope of the project, and I am pulled away from my work to discuss and advise (which I am happy to do), we have to adjust our game plan, which in turn, extends the completion date [Member Name Removed] was a pleasure to work with , and we look forward to making [Member Name Removed]'s vision of her bathroom a reality. Matt and his crew did a great job. His price was significantly less than other bids we received so we were a bit concerned the quality wouldn't be there. Not to worry. They did a fine job. I've recommended him to friends and family.
A couple things though.
We did use the painter he suggested and weren't too happy with the job she did. She was there three days and she missed a lot of spots. Several months later and we're still finding areas that have to be touched up. To his credit, Matt made a return trip after she was done and tried to fix things up, but there are a lot of spots to be retouched.
Also, it did take him longer than we anticipated to finish the job, about a month or so longer. Still, I attribute that to him being a perfectionist, and I'm not really going to complain about that.
All in all, a fine job, and we'd certainly use Sodonis Group again.

"I just want to point out, the job only ran about 2 weeks over, Although we never rush quality, some of that was due to a scheduled vacation (customer was informed before we started project), and some changes in the scope of work. Originally customer was going to paint, then decided to hire it out, we usually do it in house, but due to scheduling restraints, had to recommend someone else. This review is the first I've heard of any further touch ups. I will be following up with the customer. I'm glad they're happy, and they were a pleasure to work for."

Matt Sodonis and his very professional crew (Steve and Ryan) didn't just remodel our basement - they literally transformed it from a basic family space into a beautifully finished and comfortable living space. There was a delay in actually beginning the project, due to change requests on the two jobs prior to ours. However, Matt was great at keeping us informed of the issues.
Once begun, the project went very smoothly. After removal of the paneling revealed that it had been installed with only furring strips, Matt provided several options for installing the sheet rock. We decided that Matt and crew would frame the foundation walls - they did a meticulous job of installing/squaring the framing (the foundation walls are not square). At Matt's suggestion, we also decided to upgrade to crown moldings at the ceiling.
One of the six-panel doors Matt installed was beneath a bulkhead and had to be heavily altered/customized to fit. He did an amazing job of fitting the door without having it look odd. They also provided a beautiful fit for wall board that had to be installed around built-ins the bedroom. The attention to detail on all aspects of the project is spectacular.
Start to finish, the project took four weeks. Every day, the work space was cleaned and vacuumed prior leaving. We really have nothing but praise for Matt and his crew. They will be our choice for any future projects.

Matt is pretty amazing. He does most of the work himself and takes tremendous pride in doing it right (he will tell you he is the product of two perfectionist parents :-)) You can be assured that he will do the best job possible and pay attention to every detail. The flip side of that is it takes him a long time to complete a job, but it is worth every minute. You can also count on Matt to keep the disruption to your home to as little as possible and he also takes care to clean up after himself every day.
The work in my kitchen is amazing! Matt isn't afraid to make suggestions along the way in terms of design (he has a very good eye - so I would recommend hearing him out). We didn't do a lot in that room, but it looks like a new kitchen and it fits with the age and style of my house. I couldn't be happier.
The hall bathroom was transformed! Seriously, it was such an ugly, dated bathroom, and it now looks clean, fresh and very well designed. To keep costs down, I had the tile surrounding the tub and the tub itself re-glazed, but replaced everything else. Everyone who has seen it is blown away by the transformation.
My master bathroom is quite small compared with today's newer bathrooms, however since I couldn't change the footprint, Matt worked with me to create a very unique and functional bathroom. He was creative in coming up with solutions to some unique problems he encountered in this room and even seemed to enjoy the challenge, so I have to give him kudos for that! He handled them much better than I ever would.
I could go on and on about how happy I am with the results of the renovations Matt did for me. You can also count on him to take care of any unforeseen problems and come back without complaint to make any little issues right.
If you are considering a renovation and Matt's schedule is open to accommodate you - I would highly recommend him - he is very skilled and definitely isn't one of those contractors that have given the profession a bad name - actually, he has restored my faith in contractors being not only skilled, but very ethical.

Matt and his team were great to work with. We never had any issues with them working on our house and they were always willing to work with us to help reduce the costs and make our basement exactly how we wanted it. The project ran longer than expected but Matt was very thorough and made sure everything was finished the right way. Matt kept us up to date with the progress of our remodel and was upfront about any issues discovered. Matt and his team would always let us know when they were planning on starting for the day and if they would be late for any reason.
Matt has also offered to come back and address any issues we find but everything looks great so far. Would recommend for any remodel project.

Matt is a whirl wind of activity, has he an energy level that is pretty remarkable. He gets things done quickly and efficiently and is amazing at cleaning up after himself. He has an eye for what needs to be done and is good at figuring out difficult fixes. He did multiple small jobs well for us, that in all turned out to be one big job. He was a pleasure to have around, conscientious and trustworthy. I would hire him again, without question.

Mr. Sodonis repaired the leak, filling in the crack with polymer substance. He did a great job, doing all he said he'd do. I would absolutely recommend him. His attention to detail and work ethic is admirable.

Matt had to remove the upper deck and railing as it had rotted out and replace it with a PVC railing and deck. Matt did a great job. He laid in the new decking and replaced the old railing. The upper deck looks fantastic. The quality of workmanship was outstanding. He is easy to work with and very accommodating. I highly recommend him.

Matt did a GREAT job on our project. He was extremely professional, and very easy to have around. He always cleaned up after himself, and made sure we were happy with the progress.
