the Ford Homes district.
As a near total-loss insurance claim it was difficult for us to imagine how well it was going to turn out
when the work began, let alone while working within the constraints of the insurance settlement.
However, the results of the restoration were stunning ? we have had many, many complements on the
work (particularly from the insurance adjustor!) that has updated the historic home interior to a highly
functional modern home while retaining its original charm. The advice in the renovations was especially
useful by recognizing current trends in space management and using this knowledge to tweak the
interior to give it a fresh but mature feel ? this combined the best of both worlds, which is difficult to
achieve in any circumstance.
The management and negotiation with the subcontractors was much appreciated. The owner used his years
of experience to have the contractors focus on the key needs, which made it a win-win for everyone ?
the contractors were clear in what they needed to do, the project proceeded on schedule, and costs
were contained. The project was complex and large; once the insurance company gave the green light,
the project moved on time and to a high standard of workmanship. We also want to commend the owner for his
regular updates and discussions ? they were appreciated and alleviated any concern we might have had.
We would also like to say that it was a pleasure working with Renaissance Restorations. They were always pleasant and
patient, and we always had the sense that they were working in our interest.
He was told about the other roofing issues which has caused other problems like
leaks in the house and mold.
He wants money to fix the roof that he warranted for 30 years.
"I find it interesting that on Angie's list people can write whatever they want and there is never any fact check. The facts are that Mr. & Mrs. [member name removed] contracted for a roof in October of 2002. The work consisted of replacing a the shingle roof on the house and the flat roofs on porch areas. The warranty given was a standard 30 year manufacturers shingle warranty and a 5 year labor warranty. Flat roofing has a standard 10 year manufacturers warranty, and a 1 year labor warranty. Mr. & Mrs. [member name removed] were very happy with the work in fact, so happy that they contracted with us to do their closet, bathroom, living room and family room. Anytime there was a problem with the roof a serviceman was dispatched, even long after the labor warranty expired. In October, 2015 Mr. & Mrs. [member name removed] called about a leak and a serviceman was dispatched. The problem was determined to be that the flat roofs had reached the end of their useful life as they were 13 years old. A very minimal price was given to replace the flat roof in question, which outraged [member name removed]. Mrs.. [member name removed] has blatantly lied, and written the work was done November 2015. The grades given, in this review do not correspond to the service she has received over the years. One would have to ask why would you have to obfuscate the facts? The only reason is Mrs. [member name removed] is angry that Renaissance has told her that her warranty on the flat roofs has long expired and she must pay to have them replaced. Now she has come to Angie's List and tried to make us look bad by not being honest, obfuscating facts, and omitting key points to try telling the public a shaded story to make Renaissance look bad, when in fact she has been serviced all along."
"The facts are: This roof was done and completed in 2007. The customer was happy and Renaissance Restorations, Inc. had not heard back from this client until two weeks ago. This huge fact was omitted by the review. The labor warranty had long expired. The client demanded that we come out to review her complaint. Renaissance Restorations, Inc. told {removed member name} the warranty had expired, however she was not satisfied and in many expletive deleted words demanded we come out or she would write us up a bad review on Angie's list. Renaissance Restorations, Inc. did take the time to come out and review the client's issue which was not explained in the biased complaint filed. The issue was a back porch gutter on an aluminum porch enclosure which is less than 2" wide that had had been covered with plywood and shingles. After investigation Renaissance Restorations, Inc. reviewed with the job supervisor on the project, who happened to remember it very well. {removed member name} had been given a choice a the time the roof was replaced to either replace the gutter for an additional charge or roof over a gutter that truly served no purpose. She chose to roof over. Fast forward to present, {removed member name} was told to make the corrections requested the cost would be $1,325.00. To which she unloaded with more expletive deleted words, put-downs, told me Renaissance Restorations, Inc. had lazy workers and she worked much harder than our roofers ever did, etc. all the while demanding a cheaper price for the repairs. In conclusion, Renaissance Restorations, Inc. had no communication or complaints with {removed member name} after 7 1/2 years, we reviewed the issue in person with her. When she found out she would have to pay for her requested repairs after 7 1/2 years exploded unleashing a fury that cannot be written here. Renaissance Restorations, Inc. was waiting to hear if {removed member name} was going to do the repairs this review appears on Angie's list."
He gave me a very good price. His workers were good. But the Dumster stayed in my Driveway for about five days after the job was complete. I call Jamie and he had called the people that dropped the Dumster and they said they would be out. Well my wife called and within two days the Dumpster was picked up. I am still finding nails around the house and on the drive. When it rains nails come down my down spouts. I am not sure if this is common or not. Besides them two things all is well. It has ony been a little over a month. I have had a lot of Complaments on the roof.
