I am delighted beyond my expectations. I not only wanted a safe and highly functional bathroom, but I wanted it to be lovely also and I feel that is exactly what I received. I obtained more than one bid for this remodel and accepted owner, Gary Grabowski's (CR, UDCR), proposal, knowing "you get what you pay for." Gary was very professional and highly knowledgeable about equipment and installation methods that would make my home-life much easier for me while keeping in mind my personal current and potential future needs. He was always concerned about and respectful of my budget. Once the plans were agreed upon, I had to wait a short while for my project's turn. What I liked was that once his crew began my project, it was as though I was his only client until completion. All projects have small "hitches" which are insignificant when looking at the scope of the entire project. Gary and all of his workers were so highly skilled, hard-working, trustworthy, and always pleasant and courteous. They were careful as they went in and out of my home, kept things as orderly and neat as possible with a major construction job, and even seemed to enjoy my dog! As Gary became familiar with my abilities and needs, he made other suggestions for other areas of my condo. They are continuing to do some smaller projects inside and outside and I will continue to use this company to do a few larger projects in the near future.
Description of Work: Greater Home Services is a home repair and remodeling company that also specializes in handicap access throughout your home. They just completed a total master bath handicap access remodel in my condominium.

Gary Grabowski and his crew did what I had feared was impossible. Because of a design and/or execution defect in our foundation (which was undetectable when we bought our house almost 30 years ago because it was completely covered by the deck,) woodchucks had invaded the crawlspace under the room, chewing up the plastic duct work, actually gaining entry into our home by popping off the register covers and running about. Talk about guess who's coming to dinner! In addition to physical invasion by the critters, the fill under the room (which was a very fine, yellow powder) then poured into the shredded ducts, resulting in much dust pouring in from the registers, a tremendous loss of heat and huge heating bills (as you might image this winter in particular.) Gary and his crew approached the problem very logically, something which I was neither skilled enough nor calm enough to do. Step one: Locate and remove the problem. Gary and crew located the point of entry and sealed off all but one woodchuck sized hole. I then went about trapping the critters myself (don't worry, they were live trapped and relocated, not harmed) and when we were satisfied they were all gone, the point of entry was sealed and we moved on to... .Step 2: Replace the now now existent ducts with insulated ducts. The ducts had been stripped to the wires that once held some form of plastic coating in place. Clearly, we needed insulated ducts. Unfortunately, the crawl space was not crawlable; it was far too shallow and the configuration of the ducts was unusual, to say the least. Suffice it to say that as issues presented themselves, Gary and his men went about finding creative and workable ways to solve them every time. Step 3: Return to normal. To me, this is one of the most confounding aspects of any home repair --- the inevitable and unavoidable duisruption that comes with it. Greater Home took every precaution to minimize the dust and inconvenience, kept very close to our hoped for schedule, despite a string of surprises which could NOT have been anticipated, kept me apprised at every step, and cleaned up the place beautifully when finished. I am very much looking forward to our new deck (which, no surprise, Greater Home will also be building,) now that the rain of yellow dust has stopped whenever the heat or AC are in use. Gary Grabowski is a very hands on, available, and knowledgeable contractor and uses skilled and trustworthy folks to help him work his magic. I almost hesitate to recommend him because I really would like to keep him all for myself but, given the speed at which he completes projects, I suppose I can't keep him busy full time indefinitely. Greater Home is my default provider of all things home related and I hope will remain so for many years to come.
Description of Work: Replaced some duct work under our "garden room" in an area that had been invaded by woodchucks. It's not as easy as it sounds.

I found Gary on the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) which another remodeler told me to check the list for other contractors. I looked at his website and also at projects he posted on Houzz.com. I could tell that Gary is a seasoned pro, and I think his services are suitable for customers who know that quality work and project management cost a little more.
Description of Work: I wanted to find a general contractor who could do the complete kitchen, master bathroom, guest bathroom, staircase railing, fireplace refacing, and first floor flooring all by Christmas. Unfortunately, most contractors were already booked up including Gary. Although Gary wasn't able to take the job, he was kind enough to discuss my project and give me tips about the remodel. Many of the other contractors that I contacted wouldn't even call me back because they already were booked up. Although I can't hire Gary for my Fall/Winter project, I will definitely consider him for future projects.
