In-State Moving Service
The move went well as they moved both items needed and did not damage any walls, flooring or other surfaces. Things seemed to have been great until later in the evening when I went downstairs to put both safes in their final resting area and to load them with their belongings, noticed that 2 microtech OTF knives were missing from the chair they were sitting on. Full story: Elite Haulerz showed up to move 2 safes. At first, only 2 of them arrived and I had to stand around waiting for the rest of their team to arrive to actually start the move. When all 4 of them were finally there, they loaded up both safes and took them 1 by 1 to the basement. I was very adamant at the start of the move that my number 1 priority was that the walls and floors be protected and not damaged (we just moved into this new house with new flooring) and wanted to make sure it was unharmed. Upon completing the move of the safes, the owner asked me to inspect the work to make sure it was up to my standards. So we went down the stairwell, inspected the floors, stairs, landing and walls. He also wanted me to verify they put the safes in the right area, so I went and confirmed they set them in the right spot. I signed off that everything looked good in regards to the physical move. Later that day, I had dinner plans with my in-laws so I left shortly after the movers did, when I went down stairs to move the into the closet where I wanted them to be long term and put their contents inside them I noticed that the blanket that had several knives on it was messed up (meaning it was folded nicely and when I saw it it looked like it had been rummaged through). I then noticed that my only 2 microtech OTF knives were gone/missing. I immediately contacted the owner to let him know that someone from his team had stolen them. He asked me to double check everything, boxes, chair, cushions, etc to confirm they didn't get moved by his team during the safe moves. I went through every crevice, box, blanket and they are still missing. The owner said he asked his team if they'd taken them and told me they all said no they didn't. During the course of our conversations (which I'll give him credit he was very communicative with me) he stated that "I shouldn't leave valuable items laying around" & that "I should have been down in the basement with his team while they were moving my stuff." All of which are true, but that doesn't give him or his team permission to take belongings that don't belong to them. The owner ended up refunding me 1/2 of the move costs ($255). This was an appreciated gesture, but the reality is that the cost of the 2 items stolen was $640. I told him I expected either my property returned, even told him it could be discrete if he wanted to put them in my mailbox or somewhere, or the amount in which was stolen from my property. At this point, he's told me he will not be refunding me anymore money and that I'm responsible because I wasn't down with his team to monitor what they were doing, and because I left valuable items in the open. I have receipts for both knives totaling $640, he's refunded me $255 which is $385 less than the property stolen from me.

What a wonderful experience! The guys handled everything with great care, making sure nothing hit walls or doors. Then set up in the new location perfectly. I would highly recommend
