Our older dog had renal failure and nerve damage and back problems. They took care of his annual exams, flea and tick control, pain management, and euthanasia. They took excellent care of him. We used them to board him when we went out of town. They were very supportive and empathetic particularly at the end and afterwards.
Nickerson is a very good place to board an older dog. Our dog dealt better staying there where they understood his aging body than other places we boarded him at. He seemed happy to go home, but still very happy with the staff.
They also took care of everything with our older cat.
They have taken care of our new animals as well, including spay and neutering of our puppies.
They care about their patients.
They explain all costs, options, and recommendations.
Yes, it is more expensive than some other vets, but my animals have been very comfortable with the doctors and staff.

Our experience was wonderful. We have been using them for three years since we got our dog. They are all very nice and they are very nice to the dog. They have a nice facility and they are very professional. Their price is reasonable; it is competitive.

My 6 year old boxer had a surgery for a torn ACL. Dr Almus had referred me to a surgeon in Kalamazoo, about an hour from my home. Ten days after surgery the staples needed removed and the distance for my boxer to travel was too far so the Nickerson Animal Tech removed the staples at no charge. I have had questions several times since the surgery and the office answered everyone. My boxer was still limping after 2 months and I called the surgeon in Kalamazoo. She suggested I see Dr Almus to be sure everything was going as planned. Dr Almus saw my boxer again at no charge. We have never had such good service for our animals. Nickerson Animal Hospital really care for their animal patients and animal parents.

Excellent. They got us in on short notice and Dr. Almus performed a thorough exam. We had X-Rays performed and they showed something which concerned the Doctor. He showed us the X-Rays and explained what he observed in detail sufficient enough for us to understand why he was concerned. There was an issue with my dogs heart and he recommended us to a specialty practice. It turned out that my dog had an issue from birth where the sack around her heart had not closed completely and her Kidney was in the sack around her heart. Because of the thoroughness of Dr. Almus, we were able to get the condition fixed and the prognosis for our dog is a long and healthy life. I do not believe you can do better for your pets than the Doctors at Nickerson. We have seen all 3 of the Vets there and I feel confident that what they tell me is absolutely correct and that they have the best interest of my pet in mind.

They are excellent and I will take my pets here again.
