We started with a disasterous and unfinished remodeling attempt left by the previous homeowners and ended with a very professional job and brand new living space. Bruce and Keith did an excellent job from start to finish.

Bruce Jennings designed, constructed, stained and installed custom built-in oak cabinets within our family room. The shelving is on both sides of the fireplace, involves angled sections, and one unit contains our TV. He also redesigned our mantel to match the shelves. Bruce came by a few times before building the shelves to discuss design. He worked with us to come up with a plan that we liked. One draw back may be he wasn't too forward with suggestions when we asked what he felt would look good in the space. Despite this, he was patient with us as we choose our various options. The wall behind the cabinets had two different depths, an outlet, a light switch, an air intake, and a thermostat. All challenges that Bruce was able to navigate around without difficulty. He had very valuable input, for example he pointed out that stained shelving would wear better than painted shelving, but never forced an idea on us. Once we put down a deposit his time frame for the project was very accurate. The cabinet doors that close in the TV unit have required some follow up work due to a manufacturer defect in the hinge hardware. Bruce has been prompt in returning our calls and in continuing to work with us to get the doors functioning properly. The final result looks excellent, works perfectly, and we've received many compliments. The most remarkable part, however, is that he gave a reasonable estimate for the project up front and managed to stay within that budget. Something I've found to be rare in sub-contractor type work. We have been very pleased with Bruce and his work and would recommend him to anyone considering a home improvement project.

I had Bruce Jennings came out to help us complete our unfinished basement. Our basement was wide open with a concrete floor. I had preliminary plans drawn up, and Bruce was able to help finalize them by suggesting improvements. Our basement is rather large so Bruce drew up plans to do it in two phases so that if we didn't have the money to do the whole project, he would break it up for us. I was also able to do all the painting to help save some money as well.
Bruce did quality work. Maybe it took a little longer than someone else, but I will take quality over speed any day. An example of this is that he only used screws when erecting the walls. He did not use a nail gun.
Bruce was very accomodating to any changes or deviations we wanted to make from our original plans. Any mistakes that he did make, he would fix once it was brought to his attention.
Getting a hold of Bruce to discuss details or changes should only be done by phone. I know he gives out his e-mail address, but Bruce will never respond to it.
We left our house unlocked from our walkout basement and trusted Bruce to come and go as he pleased. Bruce kept things as clean as he could after each day of working and he got along with our dogs really well.
One thing to note is that Bruce only does one project at a time. He focused solely on our basement and was there almost every day until the project was done.
We will be using Bruce again once we save up enough money for phase 2 of our basement.

"(member name removed), the photos are a great addition to the review. Thanks for taking the time to post those. And you're right, I am a bit old fashioned and the best way to contact me is by phone. You were a pleasure to work with, and I hope we see eachother again soon."

Bruce showed up every day until the work was done. Price was very fair for the quality of work. No complaints at all.

The project is still being built, but it is going great so far. Once we gave the go ahead, he came in the next day to start. He is very tidy. I will write a follow up report when he is finished.

Bruce and his crew did a great job working within my schedule and around my 2yr old sons nap time. Containing the "construction cleanup" to the lower level and not tracking through the house. Working with my on-the-fly changes and additions to the original quote yielded minor charges to me and in the end the project was a success. The only holdups were, not the fault of bruce but working with the (understaffed building dept.) city for permits in which added time to the final completion date, something i didn't plan for.

After speaking to several other larger companies who either charged a flat rate for the repair only (a significantly higher one at that), said that we would have to take out the window and bring it to the shop ourselves, and/or claimed that there was no way to fix one pane without replacing the set, we were delighted to find Bruce. He was very personable and did a great job for a great price.

I initially hired Bruce Jennings to remove an ugly metal banister, and replace with a wood banister, near my front stairs. While he was estimating the work for me, we got on the discussion of my floors, and how I had hired a home improvement store to install wood flooring for me. I showed Bruce the wood flooring I had ordered, and my plans for installation. Thank Goodness! He set me straight. Not only had I ordered the wrong type of flooring for my home, but the estimate to install was outrageous. Bruce offered a re-estimate, returned the flooring FOR ME, and then proceeded to install wood floors throughout my home, for half the cost of the home improvement store. The project took a couple weeks, and of course was a bit chaotic with three young children running around. Every day, when I came home, it was amazing. All work materials were neatly put away, not a speck of dust anywhere. I was so comfortable with Bruce and his crew that I actually gave him a key. Bruce is truly a craftsman, and I have hired him since to do multiple jobs around my home. He goes above and beyond in his work, and really cares about the final product. He does beautiful cabinetry work too, so now I am saving to hire him to do my kitchen. If you have a project that involves woodworking, Bruce is the guy to hire.
