We hired Charlie from Helms Handyman Construction for a kitchen repair at our rental. He agreed to complete the job in 5?7 days for $2,000. We provided materials. Charlie started late due to tenant delays, then took multiple days off for personal reasons, pushing the timeline. He discovered floor damage, quoted $400 extra, and we agreed. Throughout the job, he was inconsistent, missed days, arrived late, and requested payments early. He made an "executive decision" to paint the walls white instead of the labeled gray we provided. He improperly installed drywall, used incorrect caulking, and left visible imperfections. He repeatedly mentioned a 10% travel fee not included in the signed agreement. Communication became disrespectful, and he hung up mid-call. Despite delays and issues, we paid as agreed and reimbursed extra expenses. The tenant confirmed Charlie often worked just a few hours daily. We DO NOT recommend Helms Handyman Construction.

This Handyman is wonderful! Very courteous, on-time with my timeline, and professional. Charlie fixed my drywall hole. Finished and Sanded. Also chaulked my bathroom tub/shower. As well as built me a custom raised bed with office space underneath! Top-Notch !! Will be calling Helms Handyman Construction for all my home needs going forward! Also very affordable compared to other bids I received.
