COOLEY CONSTRUCTION

Cooley did a new roof for us in June 2013. They were on time and nice to deal with. The roof looks nice from a distance but a few months later we found out differently. We had another contractor here doing some other work and he pointed out several defects in their work. Our new eaves troughs were improperly installed causing all the water to run to the middle. The flashing in several areas was either improperly done or just not installed at all. Nail holes on the shingles were left untarred and hundreds of nails were found in our yard afterward. We got an estimate on the cost of repairs and it came to $7000. Cooley has not returned any of our calls to discuss the needed repairs. We are considering a lawsuit.

While the bid was the lowest for the complete basement and additional work to be done around the house, the work is top notch!  Dan Cooley (owner and gen. contractor) was on the job frequently using a 3-5 man crew depending on what was needed that particular day. All workers were courteous and would respond or pass information on to Dan when questions arose. Work was very professionally done. When Dan wasn't on premise, his son, Jesse, managed the team. Should you not like some of the work, they would redo it to your satisfaction. This happened only rarely. They also worked around the scheduling of our floor installation which was done by a floor/carpet company. Work was complete within a month's time.
As with any contractor, it is important to know that there may be a delay in the start and finish of a job depending on what is going on before your job starts and how work progresses. In our case, the original 3 week schedule went an extra week. We anticipated this so it was not a problem for us.
