Van Wert Inspections were on time. Did a complete inspection of the property. I have renters in the home at the present time, and asked that the inspection was not discussed with them, since I will be placing the property on the market for sale. I recieved a detailed report, with plenty of pictures and descriptions of the issues that were found. I would use them again.
The only negative, if this would be considered one is that they don't take credit cards. I wanted to pre-pay for the service since I am out of town. They said no. Okay-fine. However once the inspection was finished Mr. Van Wert addressed the issue of payment 3 times in two days- and that was two days after the inspection. This did rub me the wrong way-it felt like he thought I was going not pay the bill.
He did do outstanding work- he just needs to figure out a policy for out of town customers so that he feels more secure in doing business from a distance.

Inspected roof, foundation, electrical, furnace, basement, garage, insulation, ventilation, etc. The following day a detailed 17 page report with photos was available on line. Very thorough. We are very satisfied.

The inspector was very thorough and knowledgable about what was ok, not ok and why. He pointed out some obvious issues that we missed. I have had inspections before and I felt this guy was the most high tech which worked to our advantage. In the end with everything that was pointed out that was negative we decided not to buy the house but will use them again when we find another house.

Overall, he was a great help in our decision about whether to purchase the home. We saw that there was a great deal of work to be done and he covered every area of the house from basement to attic and porches to roof. We were grateful to have him and look forward to working with him again,
