They did an excellent job. They returned to do an area that there was a misunderstanding about doing.

Hired USA Insulation on 1/22/22 to blow insulation in attic and spray foam rim joists. The entire process has been a nightmare! The workers did not cover the floor in basement and the hot spray foam left burn spots on our new carpet and the dryer vent was spray foamed closed. Insulation was blown in the attic but baffles were not installed and an exhaust fan was not re-vented outside as promised. The attic built up moisture, created water spots on the ceilings along exterior walls. When workers arrived to correct the wet, moldy insulation, they found a damaged area of the roof that needed to be repaired. (This was miraculously discovered after 3 groups of employees were in the attic and did not say anything). The entire job was compromised and should not have been started. Work stopped till the roof was repaired. Next they sent a "contractor" to assess the ceiling drywall damage and repainting. This person was a "brick layer" by trade and was sent for ceiling damage! Soon another employee arrived and the two decided our roof guards (installed 3 years prior without issues) and not enough ventilation was the cause of water spots. Their resolution was to install a newer type of total ventilated soffit around our entire house for an additional charge in the thousands. One worker claimed to find more roof damage to be repaired. They stopped working and communicating as of 3/28/22. I am left with insulation heaped up in piles in the attic, baffles not installed, water spots on ceiling, and new carpet ruined in the basement. To date, not one person has called or visited to look at the mess and offer a solution. They received payment from the bank and walked away. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USA INSULATION.

USA Insulation destroyed my siding and must be replaced. I have vertical aluminum siding and the sales person explained they would need to drill up to 2 holes per section of the siding and cover the holes with plastic plugs. The installers haphazardly put up to 6 holes in a small section because they kept hitting studs. Even when they found an open area they didn't try to make the next section level with the first so the plugs look like someone took a machine gun to my siding. I reached out to the company and they said that since I signed a paper saying I knew they would put holes in my siding there was nothing they would do for me. I didn't even get the courtesy of a manager calling me, they made a support rep make the call. They said their installers were well trained, but I believe this crew had never done an installation on vertical siding ever before. Also, there was one wall in the family room that is behind the garage where they drilled from the inside - they didn't even look for electrical connections and hit the back of our electrical box. It is a good thing my husband stopped them before any serious damage was done to the electrical box.

Seniors beware of USA Insulation; I signed a contract and put down $3000.00 to have Injected Foam put in my exterior walls. After reading a few reports about Injected Foam the foam could fail and you need to remove the dry wall to get the cracked foam out and replace it. I’m not saying their foam would fail but being 80 years old just didn’t want to take the chance. Three days before the job I called and cancelled and was forced into the following, out of the $3000.00 deposit they kept $850.00 and returned $2150.00. They kept most of my monthly Social Security check which I can’t afford. I just feel ripped off.

Fraud! 25% of crawl space was done, not insulated: I asked the sales guy (Tom) to give me a quote on crawl space and attic insulation. He measured the crawl space and gave a quote. after negotiations, I agreed to the quote. After doing the crawl space, I found out they did only 25% of the crawl space and no vapor barrier was placed despite it was written in the contract. I spoke to Tom and his manager, their response was “this was your contract and this was what you paid for”, I told him why should I have a part of the crawl space insulated? Does this mean insulation at all??! Insulation is all or none. I am going to take legal actions against them so other customers don’t get into this. The crew were professional, they were told to do part of the crawl space.

I consulted Angie's List since three other companies would only give me estimates for $79. Apart from the salesperson, everything was fine and the price was right. The salesman was pushy. I needed to discuss the price with my wife who was at work. When I told him that, he went from $1700 to $1500 on his price. I did not realize I was supposed to haggle for this. He pressured me into calling her at work. In brief, there was unprofessional pressuring on the part of the salesman for me to schedule the job. He said it would be done that week, but that was part of his game. It was down two weeks after. But my main problem was the way he pressured me in my own house to make the decision for the work. I regretted agreeing to it after he left. In retrospect, I would have others do the job instead of this company because of him. However, the workers who came did a good job, were punctual, professional, and I had no issue. So the end result was good, despite an agressive salesperson.

They crew that came to complete the work was great. They scheduling needs to be better, they didnt inform me that 2 different crews would be coming out at different times, so part of the process was completed by 10am, but no one returned until almost 3 to finish up. The salesman told me i needed areas insulated that were already insulated. He also advised me during the inspection that the reason it was so cold in the upstairs room was due to poor insulation, well needless to say over $3000 spent and the room temperature has not changed at all so I am out money and still unable to utilize the space. I believe he told me whatever he needed to say to make a sale and that is just horrible to take advantage of people that know any better.

The salesman arrived on time to inspect the situation and give an estimate. His presentation included a video of professional equipment being used to dispense spray foam insulation. It looked like it would do the job that I needed done. On the day of installation, two workers arrived on time in an old Chevy Blazer. The equipment they had was essentially the same nozzles and hoses that are part of the home store do-it-yourself kit, but with much larger tanks. There was a problem initially with the tanks being too cold and we had to wait a while for them to warm up. The installers made a good faith effort to do the installation to the best of their ability. They did at least as good a job as I would have done with the home store kit. The job went fairly well and I got the result that I was looking for, although I think I paid a lot more for it than I needed to.

Great, they were honest and didn't try and sell me anything I didn't need. The only thing I would have liked is for the salesman to explain there was an additional charge for using my credit card. Yes there was the fine print, but it still would have been nice for him to point that out. I gladly would have written a check. Whats the point of trying to save money if they add big fees for cc use.

They were a great team, very clean, and I am happy with their process -- I was worried it would be a total mess, smelly and hard to cleanup after. it was very clean and straightforward and them did a very good job. And they were totally helpful and professional, respectful of our home. Worked to make sure we were happy with the job. Aside from the holes which we need a final patch.paint on, which we expected, you would not know they were here :) And yet the insulation speaks to the fact that they were here! Nice job

very well, done in 1 day, no mess, great guys, and the owner of the company was on site all day they were a little more expensive then the other quotes, but all the other quotes were for 2 DAYS not 1, well worth the extra couple hundred bucks to go with USA insulation

The person from USA insulation showed up earlier than agreed time. He seems not sure what exactly we need to do the inspection for. I thought at least he should have a thermal leak detector to show me some readings and provide me a plan to fix it. But he just took four pictures of the attic using his cell phone and gave me an estimate. All he can say are based on eyeballing the attic. The pictures are really low quality ones and seems random shots. To me, all he did was something that any free-estimate of insulation work should have done without any charge. It is not worth the price ($39.99) at all. I am extremely disappointed by this experience.
Response from USA Insulation of Detroit
"I was unhappy to learn that this customer was "extremely disappointed by this experience". I called him to discuss and offered to reimburse him the $39.99 that he payed Angie'[Member Information Removed] List since he was disappointed with the service provided. Unfortunately, he hung up on me before I could make things right."
