Went great. They reviewed the properties before starting and pointed out several problems that I hadn't been aware of, then took care of everything promptly and as promised.

All in all the stump grinding went well. They did make us sign a waiver because the stump was less than 4 feet from a utility and they were not willing to dig it up. Only went down about a foot to avoid utilities.

After spending hundreds of dollars for fungus sprayings over a period of four years my largest Austrian Pine tree still died. Urban Foresters did not guarantee a cure, but still continued to solicit me for continued sprayings and fertilizations. I was, however, told that the sprayings were working. The large tree still died! What I did not expect was a pricy quote to remove the dead tree. I thought that since I had been such a good customer for many years, that I would have been given some consideration with removal and grinding of the tree stump. I had previously hired Urban Foresters to spray a crab apple tree which also subsequently died, so my business dealings with them go way back. I hired another landscaping service to remove the Austrian Pine and grind the tree stump for half the price that Urban Foresters wanted. This was solid evidence that Urban Foresters did not value my business and did not have my best interests in mind.

Did a great job on the trimming and the tree removal. Thought the price was very reasonable. The only complaint I had was they would not grind the stumps that were close to the underground gas lines unless we signed a waiver, which we did not. The project seemed unfinished after that.

Did an excellent job removing a huge tree. Clean up was wonderful! A few dents in the lawn afterward but I guess that's too be expected with such a large tree. What was beyond wonderful was that they removed some stumps that we didn't even request, with no charge! Thank you!!!

I originally contacted Urban Foresters during the summer but they had quite a backlog and I had almost given up when they finally showed up in early November! I had used their services several times in the past 15 years and have always been satisfied with their work -- this time was no exception, except that it took so long for them to finally do the work.

In May 2014, I had Urban Foresters come out to take a look at my ailing spruce tree. I wondered if it was able to be nursed back to health. The representative said that they could prune off dead limbs and spray the needles to fight against a disease it seemed to have, but he said the tree was so old that it probably wouldn't be worth it. Also, the tree was partially uprooted from a windstorm. I asked if it was in danger of falling. The representative didn't feel like it was in danger of falling, but said that it was possible. He gave me a quote for removal.
A couple days later, I had Davey Tree Company come out to look at the tree. The Davey representative was like, "You definitely need to cut down this tree!" When I told him that another tree company felt it was optional, not urgent, he replied, "You should probably get a quote from a third company then, because I think this tree definitely needs to come down."
Unfortunately, tree companies are a peculiar sort, and I was never able to find a third company that was willing to come out and look at my tree, except for one that wanted to charge $75 to give a quote. Meanwhile, some months passed.
The week of Thanksgiving 2014, we had a severe windstorm. At one point during the fierce wind, I went out to look at the spruce tree. It was bending over too far for comfort. (It's right by my house.) I decided that I must get the tree cut down; if it made it through this windstorm, it probably wouldn't make it through the next. Indeed, when I looked at the roots the day after the storm, the tree had been uprooted farther.
Since tree companies are all booked up for 6 weeks to 3 months out, I knew I needed to get in the queue as soon as possible. Since Urban Foresters seemed more open about possibilities, rather than Davey's apparent eagerness to cut down my tree, and the fact that Davey quoted $1185 compared to Urban Foresters' quote of $905, I chose Urban Foresters.
Oh, one more thing happened in the interim between my quote in May and the windstorm in November. I noticed that a large branch on one of my silver maples had a big gap in it, so it seemed it could break off at any time. Since the latter part of the branch was over the roof of my house, I decided that branch needed to come down too.
I called Urban Foresters right after the November windstorm; they came out on January 5. When they arrived, they spent some time apparently planning their approach. At one point I thought I overheard them say, in regard to driving the truck up into the yard, "It's the ghetto, so it doesn't matter." Oh, thanks guys. I realize my yard doesn't look like Hank Hill's, but I am not a fan of tire tracks in my yard. But I already had tire tracks in my yard from when the roofing company came, so I guess my yard is destined to have tire tracks in it. :-/
They cut down the spruce tree and then did the maple tree branch. I was satisfied with their cleanup work. I caught them just before they were leaving and said, "Hey, what about the stump? I paid for stump grinding too!" They said, "Someone else does that." It was a few weeks before the stump grinder came out.
Overall, I was pleased with the company in the quoting, cutting, grinding, and billing process.

They did a wonderful job. The trees were trimmed beautifully and they removed all of the branches and brush. They provided advice on which trees needed trimming. They were friendly and professional.
