Superior Hardwood Flooring

We've had several friends put in hardwood in this year through other companies where it hasn't turned out as well as they wanted. We went with Tom Sparrow and worked through Floor Trader for ordering the floors. Toms work was amazing! Tom was able to get us in after just two week from the measurement so The floors didn't get delivered until a day later and Tom and his crew worked late and on Saturday's to get the job done before we got home from vacation. The work was outstanding! Couldn't be happier.

Excellent work and no mess!

Tom Sparrow, the owner, was very responsive, he called me back within 24 hours. He even came out twice to do an estimate, since we decided to do even more work. Very reasonably priced for the Ann Arbor area. Tom is very laid back, but knows wood floors. He was very polite, worked hard, and left our home clean at the end. He happily fixed minor details so that everything was just how I wanted it. We definitely would recommend him!

The team laid down new OSB and installed 800 sq. ft. of hardwood floor in three days. They were professional, and did an excellent job. Would definitely recommend to others!

Worked for 5 days to remove 720sqft of ceramic tile floor set in 1.5and quot; of concrete and mesh, install new subfloor to bring up floor to previous level (so doors and trim did not have to be modified), and install engineered hickory floor boards. Very hard and dusty work to remove the tile and concrete base with mesh, but they worked like yeomen to remove the debris to their dumpster outside the house. They then laid two layers of 1/2and quot; subfloor sheets carefully leveling and screwing the sheets. The floor was very unlevel in several areas and they did an excellent job of shimming and transitioning the floor to level. Solid with NO squeaks. They then laid engineered hardwood floor boards throughout, carefully positioning the individual boards to achieve a random appearance (very important for hickory). They used pneumatic nailer guns especially designed for engineered flooring. After all was laid, we disliked the appearance of two of the boards in a particularly visible area and they removed and replaced them without charge. Tom Sparrow and his son Travis have many years in the business and are clearly highly experienced and professional in their work. They are very personable and easy to work with. Arrived punctually each day and completed the work within the time they estimated. We obtained 4 bids... Superior was the lowest cost. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

They worked very hard and did a great job. They were polite, professional, punctual and easy to work with. Tom - the owner - is very easy-going and great to work with. He did the work at a great price too. They came back this week to replace a few boards that we damaged when having a new refrigerator installed. Again, they were great to work with and the installer did an amazing job. We would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.

Having your floors refinished,especially in the kitchen, is no picnic. This company moved all the furniture and was quick and efficient. The end result is very beautiful. We used water based finish as it is nontoxic, dries quickly and now stands up very well.

Took a couple weeks for them to free up their schedule, but then always showed up on time. There was a delay because my sub-floor moisture was too high, but the owner, Tom Sparrow, walked us through this and made sure that conditions were right for a successful installation. His workers are careful and courteous and it is obvious that Tom takes pride in grooming his employees. They finished the job completely and I didn't have to do anything after they left. I am thrilled with their work.

Tom Sparrow (owner) gave us an estimate and date the service would be performed. We had to wait a few weeks, but he was recommended by a friend and we trusted he would do a great job. He was very nice. A time was set and I began to clean out the china cabinet and remove items from the areas that were to be refinished. The work was to be done on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tom called on Wednesday and said his sander had broken and he was on the way to have it fixed and would get back with me regarding the status. He said there was a possibility that it might be fixed on Friday morning, but he would let me know. He called Wednesday, late afternoon, and said it would probably NOT be fixed until Monday and for me to call him back "quickly" so we could discuss and make arrangements. I, unfortunately was working (afternoons) and did not get the message and called him back the next morning at 10:30. He never called back. I kept trying to reach him and was not very happy that I had spent hours cleaning out the dining room etc. and he didn't even call me back. I became a bit upset and told him so in my messages left, and subsequently apologized as I wanted to work completed. Still no call. Have never heard from him. Perhaps he went hunting or on a trip, I don't know, but I do know he should have contacted me, could have gotten another sander....as he claimed to be very busy and I would think he would have had a back-up sander.... Anyway, a disappointment and I wouldn't want anyone else to experience the same sort of treatment.
