- Know how much you need to store
- If a mattress, have it placed in a sealed storage mattress bag - it will mildew and attract vermin (Mine got ruined by black mold - what a loss- it was high on storage racks - about 8 eet up and it still attracted mold and bugs)
- Seal your boxes
- Use plastic bins so you can see their contents
- Clean clothing and items before you store them
- Place fragile items on top (after wrapping them in bubble wrap or other protective wrap) of heavy boxes - label your boxes "Fragile"
Storage Wars is a TV show on Cable TV - if you've seen it, you'll know how some people leave their units - use the unit, but don't forget what you have in it. You might want to keep an inventory of what you have in it. This will also help for insurance purposes, should you need to document any potential losses.
Maple Village's website will help clients with information regarding storage unit size, storage suggestions, moving, packing, etc.
I do recommend Maple Village facility.
