Jean met with me and gave advice on what should be done to the house for selling. She referred me to people who could help with downsizing, painting, and various fix-up tasks. Over the next months, she would check in with me and offer advice if I requested it. The promotional brochure and MLS listing were spectacular. Jean's husband and partner made some last-minute minor repairs for me, and a great offer was received immediately. Jean clearly and thoroughly explained the closing process, accompanied me through it, and gave me information about other things I needed to do related to relocating. Jean and her husband Jim are amazing! It was my first time selling property and Jean walked me through each step. My condo was in need of cosmetic updates and Jean created a manageable and affordable to do list. After years in the business, she also had a handy list of tradesmen available. In the end, I did not spend as much as I anticipated on getting the condo ready to list. :-) In terms of setting the list price, I was happy that Jean managed expectations from the first conversation. My mother (who helped me manage the sale) met with other agents who came across as inexperienced or slightly unrealistic. We chose Jean because of her years of experience, professionalism, and willingness to answer questions after the normal work day had ended (she is very responsive!). Even upon completion of the sale of my condo, keys and documents had been transferred to the buyer, Jean and Jim helped the new homeowner repair a poorly installed garbage disposal. This type of service is above and beyond what is expected from a real estate agent and I'm happy to have her on my side. I highly recommend Jean team for buying or selling a home.

My father had just passed away and I had my childhood home to sell quickly. The home needed some work and Jean and Jim knew who to call. They coordinated the contractors and even met them at the house when I couldn't get there. They understood the industry and guided me to make the necessary updates. This was the first home I had sold and at times I was feeling very overwhelmed and they both took the time to answer my questions and provide support. They worked tirelessly for me and they negotiated a sale and closing quickly. Jean and Jim were a pleasure to work with.

We started long distance house hunting (from the Chicago area) more than a year before we were ready to buy as we tried to familiarize ourselves with the Ann Arbor housing market. Jean and Jim patiently educated us about neighborhoods and choices within our budget, plus ways to prepare ourselves for a purchase so we could act in this very hot market. Once we were ready, the Jean Team supported us, supplying helpful info, including timelines re the complicated process of home buying. Jean is amazingly responsive, helpful, smart and an altogether good person and Jim does a great job as well. Couldn't recommend more highly!

From the first contact with Jean and Jim Wedemeyer it has been an incredible experience! They were very helpful with great suggestions for getting the house ready for selling and this was before we even signed the contract. They have been there for us and always available, even on evenings, weekends and their vacation. She explained the contracts and offers very well so there was never any doubt of understanding and she was there for us as the sellers. While there were a few "bumps" in the road, from the buyers side, Jean was always cheerful and truly helpful for what could have been a stressful transaction. I would give them a top recommendation and hope to do future business with them.

Jean prepared a great listing for my condo with fantastic photos and brought in many realtors and interested buyers. She helped me find a buyer at the price I wanted and closed the deal much sooner than I expected.  Jean was recommended to me by a neighbor who sold her condo with Jean's help, and I was completely satisfied by Jean's professional service.  Jim was super helpful with the showings and even helped me during the inspection process by identifying a needed repair to the garage door. Jean and Jim are a terrific team and bring their enthusiasm,  experience and real estate knowledge to make the sale!

Jean is an amazing realtor-we are so glad we found her on Angie's List! The most important thing about her is the high level of integrity she brings to her work. We were able to trust her from the very start, and we never had to doubt. She was totally committed to helping us every step of the way. Her initial review of our home revealed a few issues that could have impeded our moving forward, but she was able to recommend professionals who resolved our issues and helped us get going. She brought in a professional photographer who captured the ambience of our home and the beauty of our landscaped yard. She created brochures for house showings, and hosted an Open House. She really did everything possible to bring in "foot traffic." And anytime we got nervous, she was right there to support us. With all of the paperwork that has to be done, she was totally on top of it-we never had to worry about documents and legalese! Her husband Jim was wonderful as well-he operated behind the scenes, but he was there when any unforseen issues arose. Just before a second walk through by the couple who ended up buying the house, the front closet door came off the track, and my husband wasn't there to fix it. Within a half hour, Jim was there. He figured out what to do and everything came off without a hitch.
I honestly can't say enough about Jean (and Jim)-their calmness, gentle friendliness, and commitment to integrity made our home sale much less stressful than previous experiences. We highly recommend them!

ecauMy plan was to interview several realtors and choose one to help sell my house. I specifically wanted to work with a realtor because of their code of ethics. Once I met with Jean, no other interviews were necessary. I liked how personable she was and how she appeared genuinely interested in the project. My initial goal was to get recommendations for a to-do list to prepare the house for the market. When touring the house, she was so observant that she reminded me of a professional house inspector. Interestingly, there were some things she said not to re-do. For this initial meeting she discussed the comps she had prepared and introduced me to the process. I liked how she seemed familiar with the homes in the neighborhood as well as the current real estate market.
Since that first meeting Jean was always available by email, text or phone- promptly responding to all questions. She was always aware of time lines for work that was being done and would contact me for progress reports- staying in touch without pressure.
Once the work was finally completed, we met once again at the house for a repeat tour.  Only then could the contract be signed and an asking price be determined. Jean went over the contract in detail (including the clause where I could fire her) and showed me the latest comps (it had been a year) and we discussed and agreed upon a strategy.
The next day Jean arranged for a graphic artist from the Reinhart office to take professional pictures. The next evening the house went on the market. The photographer had put together a picture booklet of the house and an online video. There were 9 showings that first day and several over the next two days. Reinhart uses an app that helps you keep track of all of them. Because of the good offers, we discussed and she asked for "best and final" offers to be submitted on the 4th day. At the end of the 4th day she reviewed each offer and I signed an "above asking" offer as well as a back-up offer. Jean explained how poorly written a "low ball" offer was. She contacted that agent, sent him the comps, and he resubmitted his offer to full asking price.
Jean kept me informed about all timelines for inspections and appraisals and finally the financial clearance of the buyer. Of course she was present at the closing to answer any questions. The process could not have gone more smoothly.
I found Jean to be professional, ethical, knowledgeable, experienced, and well-prepared. She was on top of everything. She was a straight-shooter, a cheerleader and a fighter.
I paid 6% closing costs which was divided by 4 so Jean's share was 1.5%.

I got Jean's name through Angie's list, and she glad I did. The project was selling my mother's condo after she had to move to a skilled nursing center (suddenly). My brothers and I all live in other states, so we needed help with names of people who could do the work needed. Jean came through with everything. We were able to get the condo emptied out, cleaned, painted and recarpeted. The pictures Jean's phiotographer took really showed the place off. The unit went on the market and immediately went into a bidding war. We sold for $15,000 over list in 4 days. Most of this project was done long distance, so the fact that Jean is so responsive was particularly helpful. I highly recommend Jean Wedemeyer!

Jean was fantastic.  She was extremely responsive and professional.  Even though we were searching for a cheap condo that wouldn't generate a high commission for her, she treated us like we were her most important clients.  She spent a lot of time with us showing us condos and was very responsive to our various email inquiries.  We quickly located a good condo through her, and the sales process went smoothly.  I would definitely use her again and recommend her to anybody for Ann Arbor real estate needs.

(Note that the cost of this service is set as a fixed fraction of the cost of the home price, and it is paid out of funds from the sale of the house at closing, not out of our pocket at that time.)

Jean is hands down the best real estate agent I have ever known. She is extremely pleasant to be around (a major plus when you're communicating so frequently in the house buying/selling process). She is also very organized, punctual, and honest. We first had Jean come to our house in the spring and talk about the reality of selling. She gave us a lot of valuable information about the market in our area, as well as very important tips for getting our house ready to sell. I am a mother of two young children and getting our house in "selling" condition was daunting. But Jean really helped to prioritize the "to-do list". Once the house went on the market we had showings immediately. Jean kept everything very organized. Then came finding a new house (while the old house was on the market). Jean helped us find lots of good options and was always quick in finding times that worked for all parties involved for showings. She was patient and prompt and I appreciated her very very much.
We ended up finding a house that we loved at an open house, and thought for sure we wouldn't get it because it's in a popular neighborhood, and was right at the top of our price range, and on the market at a busy selling time (summer). It was a "risky" deal, since our house wasn't officially sold yet. But people know Jean, and know she is a straight shooter. Everything went through smoothly, no surprises, no problems. From start to finish, my husband and I were very pleased with Jean, and feel grateful to have had her help in selling our old house and buying our new house.

Jean is fantastic.  My house was on the market with another realtor for more than 8 months, and I despaired of selling it.  When I switched to Jean, she sold it in less than a month.  Jean's knowledge and energy is impressive.  She knows how to set an accurate asking price, how to advertise the house, and how to find potential buyers.  She also has great suggestions for what to fix up, and great ideas for making sure that visitors notice the good features of the house.  She works hard, maintains a great attitude, and is always responsive.  I simply cannot say enough great things!

She treats you like you are her only client and is very prompt.  She knows her business inside and out and was able to advise us on the perfect price to list our home.  She gave us all the information we needed and provided a beautiful listing.  She give you advise on what to do to make your home appealing to the majority of buyers and has a professional photographer come in to take outstanding pictures for the listing.  Because of her service we were able to get our asking price and close within a matter of weeks. 

Jean is a fantastic agent. I really can't recommend her highly enough. She has a keen eye for detail, know the features of a home that will add or detract from its resale value, and looks out for problems that may incur added expenses down the road. She seems to know everyone in Ann Arbor, knows and understands the market, and has developed the experience that really takes a lot of the guess-work out of purchasing a home.

Jean was a fantastic advocate for the sale of my house. She worked diligently and was extremely knowledgable. Jean brought in a lot of foot traffic to my condo. After only two days, I had received an offer! She was responsive to my needs and went above and beyond the call of duty by showing up to my condo to let the movers in so they could get a cost estimate while I was out of town. Jean also met with the appraiser and put together a great presentation to ensure that my condo would appraise, which it did.

Jean is fantastic! She sold my house in three weeks during the holiday season- the most difficult time of the year to sell- and for a great price!
