I was looking for a new stylist after my long-time stylist retired. I read reviews on Angie's List and decided on the basis of those reviews (and some positive experiences of my own at Fran Coy a number of years ago) to call Fran Coy.
This is a very well-run professional teaching salon. It is my understanding from talking with my stylist that every new graduate stylist who is offered a position at the salon agrees to go through 9 months of training with one of the experienced stylists in order to learn the fine points of hair styling and customer interaction.
My stylist had been trained many years earlier by one of the owners, and now herself was training a new stylist as she trimmed and styled my hair. A very impressive business model.
This was the first time that this stylist had cut my hair and she was very attentive about asking all the right questions about how I like my hair cut and styled, and I am enjoying the haircut very much. She has a new long-term client.

It is an excellent salon. They have all sorts of services additionally like the massages and permanent eye brows. I go back because of the convenience to where I live. It is rated the best in the city when they do ratings. I like the staff. It is not a franchise. It is a family business. The pricing is fair and reasonable. They are professionally responsive to their clients.

I've been to Fran Coys twice before, and the services I've received have always been excellent. But recently, the ball was dropped.
About a week to ten days ago, I attempted to schedule an appointment at Fran Coys through their online appointment scheduling - no response. Earlier this week I called and left a message, and later the same day my phone call was returned by an appointment scheduler.
I worked with her to schedule a haircut, highlights and waxing for today (Saturday, 10/11/14). My previous stylist had moved away from the area, so I was scheduled with a new (albeit higher tier/more expensive) stylist...no problem.
My own schedule is extremely busy, and Saturdays are the only day of the week I have a sitter available; as such, I would not have agreed to an appointment at any other time. But unbeknownst to me, the scheduler actually scheduled my appointment for the wrong day - tomorrow, 10/12/14. I had no idea about this until I showed up for what I believed to by my correct appointment time this afternoon.
To her credit, the receptionist at the check-in desk (who was not the scheduler who worked with me over the phone) checked to see if any openings were available today, but today being a Saturday, of course the place was booked. My subsequent Saturdays are already filled with other commitments, and I have no free time on any other day of the week. I had no choice but to have the receptionist cancel my appointment and leave without obtaining my very-much-needed services.
I understand that mistakes happen. But between the lack of response to the online scheduling system and the screw-up on part of the telephone scheduler, my very valuable time was wasted. A highly disappointing and very inconvenient experience.

It's a nice place. The dand eacute;cor is nice and the people are nice. It's a little expensive but they are very well organized. I never had to wait long when I go there. I think they are pretty good.

They have professional employees and the facility is beautiful and clean. They are very good with scheduling appointments and they're on-time with those appointments and the quality of their work is very good. I'm going again on Saturday.

They are excellent. They have nail services. It's a full salon, they do styling, makeup, they have an esthetician, and they have massage therapy. They are just very pleasant. It's run very well. They have high quality stylist. They have received excellent training. I happen to know they go into Chicago for training once a year. It's very clean, updated, and recently remodeled. They are experienced stylist who has stayed with this same company for quite a few years. There is very little turnover. My particular stylist has been there for 14 years and a lot of them have been.

I'm very thankful for the services that were performed. I arrived almost 45 minutes late to my original appointment time and the girl that cut and colored my hair was still very pleasant and did a fantastic job on my hair. I was astounded when I walked in to the elegance of the atmosphere and their professionalism. This was the first fancy spa/salon that I'd been to and I was pleased to be offered a drink while I got my hair cut. The girl that had worked on my hair was professional and cute in her own way. I enjoyed being there and didn't feel awkward sitting there for 2 hours getting my hair done. She knew exactly what I wanted and offered ways for me to save money with the hair style I wanted instead of just assuming I wanted to spend a ridiculous amount. I would most definitely return for future services and would enjoy trying some of their spa services!

I make sure I schedule my appointments way in advance (6-8 weeks) so I can get the time I want/need, and the stylist and aesthetician I prefer. I think they also have on-line scheduling, but I have not used it.

They are very nice when you walk in - it is a beautiful salon. Every appointment I have had has been either right on time or very close. The place is clean and relaxing. They are very accommodating and offer drinks. I was so happy with my experience that I recommended them to my husband and he now goes there too. He has a different stylist but has also had a great experience.
