Chalfant Construction

I was very impressed - I think this was a small job by their standards, but they fit it into their schedule and did a really excellent job of repairing an old brick retaining wall that had lost a few bricks over its 50-year existence.

I was referred to Chalfant Construction by a roofing company, and it turned out to be a good referral. I had a leak around my chimney that I wanted fixed as soon as possible. Dave inspected and quoted the job within hours and had scaffolding set up that evening. Dave and his assistant were easy to work with, and the quality appears to be excellent. The bricks match the rest of my brick house perfectly. The chimney now looks like what it probably looked like new in the 50s. The cost seemed to be in line with the time and materials.

It was kind of expensive but it was worth it, the quality was just excellent. It took a number of days to complete the work and he had a few people with him to do the work. I am very satisfied with the work and I have had a huge problem before hand with the chimney and they eliminated that for me.

Called them, and they came over that day(evening). Looked at the chimney, told me what needed to be done, and how much it would cost. Had scafolding set up the next day. The work took longer than I expected, and they told me that after they began, things weren't as bad as they thought overall, but that the original wash was very difficult to remove, so the overall labor budgeted for the job was the same due to the difficulty in removing the old wash. Time will tell if the quality of the work is good or not. Hopefully the chimney won't leak any more. They said that mosquitos made it difficult to work(and I wouldn't disagree) but hopefully it didn't impact the quality of the work. As for the broken brick, they said they'd like to do that work, but later in the year, when mosquitos aren't as bad. There are enough doubts in my mind to make me look at other providers if we need this type of service in the future.

Mr. Chalfant was courteous and professional. The quality of his work was outstanding.
