I have been a fan of Big George’s for over 2 decades. Brad Korican is amazing to work with. He is knowledgeable, kind, and very responsive. Mark is wonderful and a great supporter of our local community. Cheryl is also fabulous! This evening I had a new fridge and stackable washer/dryer delivered. Spence and Eli were courteous and professional. they took great care with the delivery and setup of my new appliances, as well as the removal of the old ones. They were respectful of my home and extremely gracious! Thank you for being my go-to place for appliances and so much more.

They installed it and it works but they left some parts off, so they had to have a 3rd person come back and put those parts back on.  They were responsive and punctual but the actual quality of the service I'd give it a "B".

They were punctual, they did a good job installing it. I had to have them come back out and replace the part on this date. It was free of charge under warranty. They did have to come out a third time and repaired it properly then.

I would give them "A's" across the board.  They were punctual and they did a good job installing it.  I did have to have, there was a defect part on it and they back out to replace it and they were very good about that.   I would give the a "B" for price.

BAD! We went in two weeks ago to buy a new range. We thought everything was going well. They gave us a great price (matched a sale that was found online) and quoted us $155 for installation. We were told that we didn't need an installation measurement/estimate because it was just replacing one range of the same size and type with another, and they "did it all the time". A few days later I received a phone call saying that on second thought, they did want to do the measurement. It was scheduled for that Friday morning. I made it clear at the time that I would NOT be available Friday afternoon, but the morning was fine. Thursday afternoon I received and automated voicemail to confirm the appointment for Friday afternoon. I had already said I was NOT available in the afternoon but their install department decided to move the appointment without my consent or asking me first. I called back and said that would not work, and they couldn't do the morning as we had scheduled, so it was rescheduled for the following Tuesday from 12-2pm. Monday afternoon I again received their automated phone call confirming it for Tuesday 9-12. So yet again their install department changed the appointment time without my consent or asking me first. The installer showed up a little after 9am for his measurements. He then gave me a detailed install estimate for $600. A far cry from the $155 we had been told when we ordered the range and put in a $2000 deposit for it. We called the store that evening and the response we received was that "well, that is what it costs" and no concession was offered whatsoever. We also received no apology for the drastically misquoted install fee, or being initially told no measurement was needed and then deciding that it was (and charging us $45 for the measurement appointment) or the fact that their install department screwed up the measurement appointment time not just once but twice. Absolutely horrible customer service. And clearly there is a huge disconnect between their sales department and install department not only on what prices they quote the customer but what appointment times are scheduled. We asked for a refund of our deposit and we will shop elsewhere even if we end up paying more money.

We moved from Toledo, Ohio to Canton, Michigan so we stopped into Big Georges in Ann Arbor to look at new appliances. We met Dave Hamill. Very nice guy. Not pushy, but eager to help. We were also shopping other stores. I emailed Dave the brands and model numbers we wanted. He was the first to respond and prices were the best. We came in and ordered them. He even told us about a manufacturer rebate that the other stores didn't mention. What I liked...when I called or emailed he responded quickly. We are "very" pleased with Big Georges and Dave Hamill. Oh what about delivery, you might ask! Two guys, I believe they Sherman & Harrison. Exceptionally polite and thoughtful. They measured "before" attempting to bring the appliances in. They were "very" careful not to touch the door jams or to scrape the appliances. Quite friendly as well. They were very organized and had the utmost teamwork I've seen in a long time. They didn't act like they were trying to rush out. When they moved our old washer & dryer from the basement I was concerned that they wouldn't fit. These guys are Pros. What a wonderful experience. Excellent prices, product line, and most of all a staff with excellent work ethic. Everybody I know is going hear this success story. Thanks guys.

We were very happy with our buying experience at Big Georges.  We appreciated the patient and no-pressure attitude of our sales rep Jeff.  He worked with us to get the maximum benefits/rebates through package incentives, and when we mentioned we liked the style of one item that was not part of the package, he worked with the manufacturer rep to get us the style we wanted at no additional cost.

We purchased a refrigerator on 9/17, and Big George's delivered it on 9/19.  Within 2 weeks, the refrigerator completely stopped working, so we called Big George's about warranty service.  Bid George's advised us that it didn't handle warranty service and we would need to work directly with the manufacturer.  We called the manufacturer, but they were unable to locate a warranty service provider until October 9.  The Warranty Service technician came on October 9 and examined the refrigerator.  He explained that the control panel was defective and had caused a short circuit in the cooling fan, and he advised us to return the refrigerator to Big George's for replacement or refund.  Later that day, we called the salesman who had sold us the refrigerator (Austin), and he agreed to order a replacement, which he said was in stock at the Ohio warehouse.  He said the Ann Arbor store would receive the replacement refrigerator on Wednesday October 14 and would deliver it on October 15.  On October 14 we called Austin to find out at what time the refrigerator would be delivered on the 15th.  He said that he hadn't placed the order, but that he would do so that day,  that it would arrive in Ann Arbor on October 20, and that he would make sure it was delivered at 9 am on October 22.  On October 21, we called Austin to confirm the delivery the following morning.  The sales representative who answered the phone explained that Austin had left for the day, and that our refrigerator was at the Ann Arbor warehouse, but that we were not on the delivery schedule for the 22d.  Instead, he explained, Austin had scheduled our delivery for Sunday October 25. I asked whether the store delivered on Sundays, and was told that no, the store did not deliver on Sundays.  I told the sales rep that Austin had absolutely promised that the refrigerator would be delivered on the 22nd, and asked him to please try to reach Austin.  Austin called me back a few hours later.  He said that the refrigerator had not been delivered to Ann Arbor.  I told him that his colleague had checked the computer and confirmed that the refrigerator was at the warehouse and ready to be delivered. but that he had scheduled the delivery for a Sunday, when Big George made no deliveries.  He admitted that yes, the refrigerator was there and he had made a mistake in scheduling the delivery, and promised to try to arrange for delivery the following day.  The next morning, a Big George delivery truck came to deliver the replacement refrigerator.  The delivery guys removed the defective refrigerator and then, as they were taking the  replacement refrigerator out of the box the box, they broke it.  After calling the store, they promised to order either a replacement or new parts, and told us to call the store to schedule the repair.  For the next two weeks, we called the store daily but neither customer service nor the service department would rerun our calls.  When we were able to reach people, they were very polite, but noncommittal about whether and when they would be able to repair or replace the refrigerator.   On November 6, we were able to speak with the customer service manager, Stacey, who said she thought it would be at least another two weeks until they could schedule the delivery.  It transpired that Big George had received the replacement part, but that sending a service technician to install it was a low priority.  After extremely persistent calls, threats, complaints, and pleas, we finally persuaded them to put us on the schedule by offering to pay the overtime charges for the service technician ourselves.  At that point, they finally delivered and installed replacement part, more than six weeks after we had paid for the refrigerator. It was a warm fall, so we weren't able to keep our food cool by putting it outside.  Instead, we spent the six weeks using coolers and bags of ice to keep food from spoiling.

I have purchased all of my new appliances from Big George for the past 40 years.
I have always checked out the competition, and have always returned to Big George to make my purchase and have always been exceptionally satisfied--with the products offered, with the knowledge of the sales professionals, with the delivery times and punctuality of delivery, with the care taken by the delivery staff regarding the product and also my house, and with Big George's total willingness to stand behind the products they sell.
Whenever any issues have arisen with a product that was delivered, they have been very willing to work in a reasonable way within a reasonable timeframe to resolve any problem.
I read reviews of products online where purchasers report horror stories regarding the product purchased and it is clear that they did not purchase their product from Big George.  A knowledgeable salesperson would have helped them avoid those issues prior to purchase, and a conscientious salesperson and sales manager would have helped to correct any legitimate issues with the final purchase.
The fridge I was replacing was also purchased from Big George--a middle-of-the-line fridge price-wise when I purchased it, but of exceptional quality and features.  It lasted 20 years.  Although appliances in general do not seem to be improving in quality, the staff at Big George helped me to find another very high quality fridge for a reasonable price--I expect that my new fridge will also last a very long time.  Thank you, Big George!
I simply cannot imagine purchasing a home appliance anywhere else.

Big George's was the 4th repair service vendor given to us by Viking Appliances.  Unfortunately the first 3 vendors we contacted no longer serviced Viking.  Not only did Big George's agree to come to our home in another county, Eddy immediately booked an appointment for two days later to ensure they were ordering the correct Viking part.  Dragan called prior to arrival and arrived promptly during the appointment window.  Analysis was quick and precise, costing $65.  The blower assembly motor was the damaged part, not the convection motor assembly originally thought.  Eddy called next morning to confirm price of the parts and to obtain a serial number needed for the control panel he was also ordering as lettering had rubbed off over time due to cleaning.  He indicated the blower repair would require 2 men to remove the wall oven.  He said he would call when the part arrived as we opted to have the blower fan fixed immediately while we waited for the control panel which was on back order with Viking.
The following week Eddy called to schedule repair, providing us with another short window.  Dragan and another repair person arrived promptly at 6pm to install the new blower.  The entire repair took approximately a half hour, costing $389.  Now our oven works perfectly!  It even sounds quieter than when first installed.  In total, from time of first phone call to schedule repair diagnostics to actual repair was 10 days.  From reading previous reviews of other Viking Appliance owners, this prompt, efficient and effective service is unheard of.  This was a totally no-hassel experience, given the inconvenience of an inoperable oven.  We will use Big George's in future.  And they also have our business for any new appliance we might consider.

I worked with Brad in sales to get a price quote on new appliances. He was very informative of the product and knew what he was talking about. We got everything setup for installation and he informed us of a couple things to check before the installation date like counter height for the dishwasher and cabinet height/vent location for the hood. We had to go back to make the payment a couple days before the installation and also switch out an electric dryer for a gas dryer. We ended up working with a different sales rep who adjusted our quote to get the gas dryer added. He was able to match the pricing from a presidents day sale since it was when we originally ordered it but he forgot to add labor charges and I found out the day of the installation from the worker which was not satisfying. I have yet to receive a call from the store since I paid in full before the installation so maybe the worker had an old copy of the receipt and was misinformed. The installation was quick and there were 2 crews to do two separate installs. The crew that was installing the washer and dryer had trouble getting the dryer into the basement but ended up fitting it after some adjustments. They notified me that the sides may get scratched and wanted to get an ok from me before doing so. I told them it was ok and I appreciated them asking instead of just doing it and me finding out later. The gas line that was ordered for the dryer wasnt long enough so they used the old line hookup, and the water hoses for the washer were 4' hoses but they needed 6' hoses instead so they swapped those out. There were a couple things that could have been done better and I would have provided measurements if I knew what information they needed, but the sales agents should have covered those details.

We were referred to them by their sister store (Waldbeck in W. Bloomfield) since we're in Ann Arbor. The salesman (Jeff Sendra) was very nice and showed us a lot of different models taking time to listen to our concerns of measurements and other restrictions we had in our kitchen. After finding out that the items we wanted would work, he proceeded to BEAT the prices given to us by their other store in Bloomfield!
The installers came to make sure that everything would work right before the items were delievered. This turned out to be a good thing as we found out that our dishwasher space was not enough for the one we wnated due to the way our floor was installed.
After going back to lok at other options we found one that was just as nice and significantly cheaper! It was a different brand name, but made by the same parent company so it matches very well.
The delivery guys did a quick and effiecient job and the installers came not too long into their drop off.
The only thing we didn't realize was that our Fridge didn't have an icemaker (which we were led to believe it did by Waldbeck). I called Jeff while they installed to make sure we had the right fridge. He apologized for not making that clear and they ordered one for us that can be installed at NO COST due to the miscommunication.
The team of three installers did a great job in relatively little time and everything seems to be working very well.
I will go back to them when the time to replace the washer/dryer comes.

The door went well, it looks fantastic. The problem came with the new fire rocks. After using them once the top four rocks turn pitch black, as if someone poured black paint over them. I called the salesman/and quot;fireplace specialistand quot; who told me this was normal. He offered some suggestions such as cleaning them after every use. He never once mentioned the maintenance aspect of this produce or I would have never bought them in the first place. I have a gas fireplace so that I can turn it on and turn it off not clean it. The and quot;specialistand quot; also didn't know that my existing gas starter wouldn't be sufficient to light all the rocks so I had to purchase another gas starter---another cost. I tried what the and quot;specialistand quot; told me the manufacturer told him to do which was washing the sooty rocks in a solution of water and vinegar. All it did was turn my sink and hands black.
If any of this would have been mentioned during the sale I would have passed on this item and saved myself $400. So, be wary of the and quot;fireplace specialistand quot; at Big George's who most certainly is NOT. I have been a customer there for over thirty years and this may have been my last purchase.
The owner of the store was very helpful but I think a better solution to this problem was missed.

I bought a new Firgidaire gas range. A floor model at a substantial discount. I paid extra for delivery and installation. There is a regulator on the rear for gas to the oven only -- not the cook top. The installers BENT the controller so it would not function.
Well, OK, these things happen.
When notified, all the store would do was give me the phone number of the national repair service for Firgidaire. No local service.
I've been dealing with them since I came to town 40 years ago, but never again.

Awesome new washer/dryer, all the bells and whistles, installation was Christmas Eve..., 4pm. Everything looked fine. Took a few weeks to realize the dryer vent was not properly installed. Called, got a bit of a run around, finally insisted and got installer to reappear and redo the dryer vent installation. That lasted about a month before we had lint all over the house again. Called, then, got a "there, there, dear" kind of response. "I;ll call you back later to day." got no call. Called and spoke to "supervisor" with installation department, described the set up in detail. Got a new installer to come within a week and it's been running fine for about 3 months. For all the hype about Big George's being "the place." For all their rhetoric about being the best, etc. I had hope dryer installtion could have been done right the first time! Will consider Big George's for new dish washer and refrig..., but will CERTAINLY look at other places, too.

The store's initial price for the range was on the high side, but the saleswoman at the store agreed to match a lower price I found from an authorized dealer on the Internet once she checked the website and confirmed that the lower price included delivery and installation. The delivery truck arrived at the very end of the delivery window quoted to me. The delivery and installation team removed the old range and then explained that they did not have the appropriate tools to install the new range. They called the warehouse, which agreed to send out a different installer several hours later. That installer installed the range without incident, but said there was no reason why the original team should not have been able to complete the installation. The original team hauled away the old range (for a fee) but left the cardboard carton it came in lying on the sidewalk.

There was no pressure to buy a certain type because I had done my research and knew the kind I wanted. They had to shorten the vent, but other than that every thing was great.

The overall purchase went very well. The trouble started when the promised delivery date set a week in advance(a Saturday)was canceled the 1st time by them. A new date was re-scheduled the following Saturday, which almost got canceled too. We were scheduled for 1st delivery in the morning, but that got changed by the drivers on their own accord. When questioned, the dock supervisor actually lied about why our time was changed due to a truck breakdown. In the end, our sale person credited us back for the delivery charge of $50.00 due to the inconveniences they put on us.

Great selection and good prices. Able to install within a week. They called to confirm appointment. Prompt arrival, quick and efficient installation. AND they cleaned up after themselves!! Old fashioned, CUSTOMER ORIENTED service! Very nice experience and costs were cheaper than every other place we shopped at. I will never go anywhere else for appliances and any other items they sell.
