+ -1 moreArgon did our driveway and it looked like they had done a nice job. Four years later cracks developed in three of the panels. Argon didn't return my calls. I had to find another contractor to check on the problem. He showed me evidence that "cheap concrete" was used. So I wouldn't count on their product and even less so on follow-up

+ -1 moreCalled and scheduled time for concrete to be delivered (Wed. at noon). Called wed at 11:00 a.m., paid the bill, and was told truck will likely be there around 12:15 p.m. I had hired workers who were there waiting. Called at 12:35 p.m. to find out status of truck, was told didn't have a truck available, but would call me right back. Called at 1:00 p.m., was told still didn't have a truck and didn't know when he would be able to bring me the concrete, but it might be that day. Had to cancel the order. No apology other than, "O.K., have a nice day!".

+ -1 moreThe workers were there on time everyday and worked very hard. They all introduced themselves, and were very nice to have around for a week! They started the work before I was home froma trip but waited to pour until I was there toapprove everything. They answered all of my questions. My granddaughter was visiting adnthey even made a space for her to put her hand in! It was very hot that week, They brough extra hands for the pouring. It looks really nice.
Description of Work: new concrete driveway - there was just a gravel driveway previously but they tied into teh garage and apron as well as a walkway that hadbeen poured a year ago when we built the house.

+ -1 moreThe epoxy was hideous. I had shown a picture of what I liked and was told fine, and that there would be variations in color, which was OK because I knew a concrete basement surface might be a little darker in some places than others.. However it ended up instead with deliberately applied spots, like a leopard, and moreover the base color was more orange than the light brown I wanted. It was so ugly I paid someone else to cover it over with the application of a solid color of epoxy. Even after that, there developed bubbles in the epoxy and I was told that if the surface is not properly prepared and cleaned that the epoxy will not adhere; the problem was with the first (spotted) application, not the 2nd coverup application. The issue was with binding to the floor surface.
Description of Work: I had my basement floor ground down to have epoxy applied as a finish. Then the epoxy was applied to the floor.

+ -1 moreMostly work was good and the driveway has survived quite well after a year's use. The only thing we were dissatisfied was the lack of professionalism of one of the foremen on the job. He treated us with disrespect, causing us to be concerned about the quality of work, being done. That's the main reason for not using the service provider in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced driveway with new cement, including sidewalk and approach to the road, 8' walkway to porch and short 4' path on side of garage.

+ 0 moreAfter a very rocky start where we stayed home from a day of work to get the project going, they just did not show up. We called. They did not have us on their books. We rechecked and they showed up, did the work, at the price quoted but left a massive massive mess. It took us 21 extra labor hours to clean up after them part of that being a paid service. We still are not done yet. They got fine fine cement dust in every inch of our house. They did put up plastic but it was thin, one layer, it did not go all the way to the ceiling and then they cut a massive hole in it. I have had this work done in a different house and not a spec of dust went anywhere because the good gentlemen took the time to take care. This was meant to be a two part project where they come back for more money and install drainage in our back yard. These men will not be allowed in our yard with a backhoe...no way. They knew how to control the dust...just did not take the care.
Description of Work: Basement waterproofing along two walls. This included a sump pump.

+ 0 moreMy husband and I are using Argon Construction for work on our roofing. So far we have no complaints and give them an "A."
Description of Work: Argon's work entailed the following: (1) installed a perimeter drain system with sump/pump to stop water ingress, (2) repaired foundation walls using steel mesh and cement coating/parging technique, (3) installed nine I-beams as specified by our structural engineer to stabilize three walls, (4) repaired basement floor and (5) finished ceiling. Given the complexity and scariness of basement foundation repair, Dan was a pleasure to work with. He communicated openly and often. There were no surprises. He is VERY dependable and trustworthy. Having a strong working relationship was so important. The crew members worked hard. The results show that crew members were clearly experienced and knew what they were doing. The job was very dusty but the crew cleaned up the work areas thoroughly. The crew was also very polite and respectful. The foundation walls are repaired and the basement is dry! A major problem has been resolved - from a nightmare to dream! We interviewed and received proposals from four other companies. Argon was competitive price-wise. We are so grateful we chose Dan and Argon!
