Alpha Design + Build
About us
The Design Build method is built on collaboration and communication, unifying the designer and builder as a single entity. When you work with Alpha Design + Build, we're accountable for the entire project, including how the end result looks, how much it costs, and how quickly it is completed. As experts in both design and construction, we know how buildings come together and we consider all aspects of the project -- from fees to scheduling -- early in the process which often results in lower total cost, fewer overruns, faster construction, and better continuity. Our team includes professional designers, project managers, and master carpenters working together to provide beautiful custom living spaces. Our relationships with subcontractors are of paramount importance, too. Our plumbers, electricians, tile setters, painters, heating and cooling experts are an invaluable part of the Alpha team, project after project. We’ve spent years with these folks, and you can rest assured that everyone working on your home is someone we’re proud to have represent our company. Everyone on the team has the same goal – to keep a smile on our clients’ faces from start to finish.

Dan, the carpenter, really did a great job installing our cabinets and crown moulding. It looks beautiful. Installing that is no easy task. Dan also kind of oversaw the other subcontractors and made sure that everything came together smoothly. We really appreciated his attention to detail.
Alpha had originally installed the kitchen and has done three other projects for us. Because we had a U-shaped Corian counter top we wanted to save we felt they would be the best at taking out the lower cabinets without damaging the countertop plus we knew the job would be done right by our previous experience with Alpha. We also wanted to make sure we didn't have any issues with mold from the about 4 inches of water that covered all of the basement floor. They did not disappoint as they removed all of the bottom cabinets, saving the drawers and doors, without damaging the countertop in anyway. They then ordered the cabinet boxes from the original manufacturer unstained and stained them to match the cherry on the upper cabinets and doors. This was important because Cherry changes color with age so they were able to match the cabinets which were about 12 years old at the time. They also replaced the paneling on the 20 foot of bar area.
They did little things like frame in a wall paper picture as the bottom six inches got cut off when the drywall was removed (thus saving us from replacing it), to helping us get a water back up sump installed so we wouldn't have to depend on the alarm company in the future, to moving the home theatre electronics to a more convenient location, to the big thing of adding the display case and making the whole basement better than it was before the incident.
We did not go thru the usual procedure of getting a price first, because I knew from past experience that I would get a fair price and getting it done quickly and right without me having to provide daily or even weekly reviews of the job was important. I was disappointed with doing it this way as the end price was fair and the work was done in a timely manner.
While Alpha did not remove the old carpet, drywall, and insulation, they did respond right away to arrange for a replacement sump pump and to remove the kitchen cabinets and wood paneling on the bar. They then began remediating the damage as soon as the basement was dried out.
