We have used A2 Electric for several years on many electrical projects around our house. Nate and his team are always punctual, honest and hard-working. They are extremely professional and reasonably-priced. I have referred many friends and family members to Nate and A2 Electric and all have been very satisfied. I highly recommend them to anyone in Washtenaw County who needs an electrician for life.

These guys were excellent. If I could, I'd give an even better rating for the price. I had gotten a quote somewhere else first, but these guys blew the original quote out of the water. When I got a quote from the previous place, they didn't give me much input into lighting design, and said that if we want input we'd have to hire someone who does lighting design. Nate, on the other hand, was very knowledgeable and helpful with discussing with us regarding where and how much lighting makes sense. The results from following his advice were excellent. They made it clear from the beginning that they don't patch up holes in the ceiling left from running wires where there weren't any before. That's not a problem to us because we're able to do patch up just fine. Everything went smoothly according to what we discussed and the price was exactly as quoted in the end, no surprises. They were extremely punctual and very professional. The one down side is emails/communications take a while or are sporadic, but that's mainly because (from what I can gather), they're really busy with all the jobs they have lined up. If you try them and get frustrated with the communications part, I just have to say that it's worth it to work with them on that, everything else they have to offer more than makes up for it.
Description of Work: Wire and install 10 LED recessed lights without attic access (I supplied the lights); wire and install 2 bathroom recessed lights and 2 hallway ones with attic access (they supplied the lights). Replace a light fixture with a chandelier (I supplied the parts); added 2 dimmers (they supplied the parts); Wired two boxes that I'll use for future light fixtures.

I called and set up an estimate with Nate for 1-20-15. He was polite, professional and knowledgable. He gave me a price on the spot! Other electricians were going to email me or call me with a price which most took several days to weeks to give me a price. Not Nate. He gave it to me right then and there. My job was a small job (2 hours worth of work). I decided to go with him and he had a cancellation otherwise i would have to wait 3 weeks to get on the schedule so he did the work the very next day. We ended up calling him the night before and made a change to add recessed lighting as he recommended it. He had no problem with that. With adding the recessed lighting, he was still cheaper than other quotes for the original estimated work. He showed up with Chris and they got to work. He left Chris to do the work as he had to get some material and other things. Chris was done in 3 hours. He worked fast, got the job done, looked great and my wife was very happy that we decided to get recessed lights. WE WILL DEFINATELY BE HIRING HIM AGAIN!! HE IS WAY CHEAPER THAN OTHER ELECTRICIANS!! EVERYONE SAYS BEWARE OF LOWER PRICES. WELL, AS LONG AS THEY ARE LICENSED/INSURED AND DO A GOOD JOB THEN THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IN PRICING WITH THESE OTHER COMPANIES IS THAT THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AND JUST WANT TO MAKE A HUGE PROFIT. NOT NATE OF A2 ELECTRIC! HE IS FAIR AND WON'T RIP YOU OFF. OTHERS WANTED TO CHARGE ME BETWEEN $700-1,200 FOR THE SAME TYPE OF WORK

Nate and his team at A2 electric were professional, friendly, easy to work with and his prices are very reasonable. We had the experience of using another contractor and was not as satisfied with the level of work performed. In hindsight I should have contacted Nate first and get his opinion. I would definitely use him again for any future electrical related work in the house.
Description of Work: We used A2 Electric before to assist in fixing the lighting in our house. For this job he worked on our rental property and helped install a ceiling light in the basement, repair existing ceiling lights, and install smoke detectors around the house. They also installed GFI's where needed and even made recommendations to address issues on complying with local rental inspection ordinances in the most cost efficient manner. Their people do very good work, are reasonably priced and are a great group of guys. I have already scheduled them to help out on other electrical jobs that I need to get done on my other properties.

The day prior I had a new roof put on my house. My house was built in 1958 but has had two additions since that time. Half the house is now heated by a huge combined electric heating/cooling unit in one. The evening the roof was installed the heat for that half of the house was out. I began thinking that it was strange that happened after the roof was done but how could they be related? The next morning I called a heating and cooling guy to diagnose and fix the problem. He came out the same day at 11am. After about 1 1/2 hours he knew that the problem was a cut wire but he could not locate the location of the cut. It was made difficult because of the 3 different sections of the house. He told me to call an electrician because even if he found it he would not be able to do the repair. He felt that a new line would have to be run. So I paid for the service call. I then called the Roofer to make sure they knew what was going on and that I would be looking for reimbursement if they had cut the wire. They were real good about it as we worked to solve the problem. I called A2 Electric because that is who the heating company recommended. I was able to get Nate on the phone right away and he told me he could be here at 4pm today. He and his brother showed up about 415pm. I told them the story and he immediately started to search for the break in the line. They went to the attic and found it in about 20 minutes. I had them take pictures and I went to look at it too. He was very willing to help me with the roofer in getting reimbursed. He told me the wire was placed to code and it was their fault. The roofer gave me no problem in agreeing to pay for repair. Nate and his brother made the repair quickly. I also had a faulty switch in the bedroom I asked him to look at while here. He fixed that too at no charge. They two guys were very personable and knew exactly what they were doing. I would use them again and refer them to anyone as well.
Description of Work: Located cut in wire for heating and cooling unit and made the repair.
