They would come out a few times a week for the training. She was a great trainer and very experienced, especially with the German Shepard breed. She trained by rewarding and not disciplining. We got a great response from the training and scheduling was super easy.

My German Shepherd dog had been limping for a few days. It got worse over Memorial Day weekend when my veterinarian's office was closed. We rescued a year-old German Shepherd dog (GSD) from the Humane Society. He was energetic, rowdy and had many behavioral problems (pooping and peeing in the house, eating feces, crying all night, etc.) We enrolled him right away in Mary Hovingh's training class. She has a GSD herself and we have taken our other GSD to her. So we know she knows the breed. (As well as others.) Mary has 30 years of professional and personal experience with dogs so she has heard every problem and has a variety of solutions to try. The standard obedience lessons and cutesy party tricks that you'll learn are valuable for health and safety of your dog. You get innumerable tips on everything from food to pet napping to coupons to microchipping.... The only problem is sometimes Mary tells too many stories so we do not get to practice enough while we are at the dog school so that the humans can have their technique corrected. But I am grateful to have her wealth of knowledge in my community.
