I called Richard at Motor City Builders for a few jobs that needed to be done. First Richard quoted me a very reasonable price for the following jobs: 1. Clean out all ductwork which had never been done. Work on my home is challenging to say the least. Used All professional equipment to clean out my furnace system and fog the system as well. 2. Replaced vintage humidifier on my furnace and had to make several trips to store to get correct parts since everything in my home is vintage! 3. Inside my husband?s work room is another small pantry like storage room that was full of black mold on the ceiling and walls of this room. Richard used the professional mold killer, and used an Hepa Air Scrubber for two days and it got rid of the mold! Richard even cleaned out the little room that had a ton of stuff in it! Richard and his crew are very friendly and caring. I am a senior citizen and a recent widow and Richard has been looking out for me. He truly cares and work is exceptional.

Richard quickly replied to my text, giving me the price and timing details. He went above and beyond to help solve my issue. Initially, I thought it was a clogged drain, but it turned out to be something else—potential foundation concerns. Richard was able to locate the water source and offered a future service plan. Motor City Building has remodeled a couple of kitchens and have done flooring projects for me, and they all have turned out great. Richard has always been upfront and highly communicative about everything related to the projects. He shows up as expected while yet communicates when unforeseen circumstances occur which require his attention, which was a rarity. Most common is he follows his timeline and completes on or near the expected completion date. He and his crew may have a higher pricepoint than some, but the quality workmanship and peace of mind because of his commitment to quality product and client satisfaction of the finished product make that easier to handle. It’s been great having such a knowledgeable, straightforward, yet personable contractor and I look forward to working with Motor City Building again on my next project.

HORRIBLE!! I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. Contacted them to install a shower door and they did it completely wrong. First off they showed up late. Then they finally get there and they made extra holes in my newly installed bathroom tiles because they misaligned the door... Then, they made more holes and it's STILL clearly not lined up right. Theres now visible extra holes in my tiles and the sliding door is way uneven. The door on one side of the tract is over 2 inches from the end of the tile and on the other side is under 2 inches from the tile. Because of it being on an angle, the door doesn't even slide right. They offered my dad $40 off the total price at the time because he was home to let them in while I was at work. When I called them later that day to discuss what happened and why everything was wrong, they offered no solution or apology and hung up the phone on me. The guys excuse was that he had installed under 10 shower doors. Not sure why if they are clueless that they choose to learn on the job and do a legit horrible job. Stay away!!!

I originally hired Richard to do interior painting. In addition to that he has installed paneling, vinyl flooring and ceramic tile in the kitchen. He's thorough, conscientious and, on more than one occasion, has made suggestions that have turned out to be far better than my original ideas. I've already got another painting project for him and I will continue to use his services in the future! I can't say enough good things about his work and I highly recommend him for your home improvement needs!!

Richard and crew did a great job installing a set of french doors in my home office. They kept their workspace clean, were respectful and got the job done in a timely manner. While they were finishing up, I mentioned I was having trouble installing a baby gate (store bought gate wouldn't work due to stairwell hand rails). Richard came back a few days later with a custom gate - painted and installed in less than 3 hours. Just wish I could give these guys an extra star - 5 isn't enough!

I had a great experience with this company. Workers were on time and courteous. They did a great job repairing and painting the interior of my home. They also did a good job cleaning up once the job was done.

We are definitely happy with the interior painting Richard and his crew did for us. They were very respectful of our household effects. Plus, moving and covered our furniture. Yes, I would recommend Motor City Building on your next project.

How wonderful to hire competent reliable workers. They painted the exterior of my home and garage and replaced the facia and soffit on the garage. I am very pleased and give them five (5) stars for a job well done! I plan to hire them again in the near future.
