LOWE'S

Lowe's uses By-Tor for installation. Total clown company. They scheduled us for a measurement and never showed for the time they had us scheduled. When I contacted them regarding the problem, they made excuses for their lack of communication and wasting our time. When I spoke to the project manager, he reflected the same clown attitude regarding how customers are treated. Avoid this company, and Lowe's for that matter since they contract with the unprofessional company By-Tor Contracting. The company just likes wasting your time and money. Horrific customer service.

I paid for a storm door and installation 2 weeks ago. The Installation company, By-Tor, has called 3 times and cancelled 3 times for installation. They call and cancel on the day scheduled for reasons unknown. They treat you as if time is not important. Now, they have scheduled me for 3 weeks from now. Avoid Lowes in the Toledo, Ohio/ SE Michigan area. Lowe’s should consider getting a better installation company.

We had french doors and 2 windows installed in October and they destroyed my trim, chipped paint everywhere, ordered the wrong door size, gouged wood on my deck, sliced my floors and the windows that were installed stick out a half inch from the side of my house and a bunch of other things. They couldn't get me in for repairs until today, 106 days after the install, so I flew home (we split residences for 6 months), got a rental car and they just called me to cancel! I am LIVID. I had to call the store and By-Tor in Temperance over 25 times to even get this appointment today scheduled. Nobody at the store gives a flying f***, the store manager, Scott Croft, Jeremy Baker and sales guy Neil Micklewright, don't call you back, this is absolutely unbelievable how p*** poor the customer service is by both vendors! Avoid at all cost!!! So now I'm out the cost of the doors/windows and 2 flights and rental cars and I still have a disaster in my living room.

I tried to do business with locals however they never responded despite persistent calls or visits. Lowes had books for me to take home, sent out a person to measure with in the week of contact and had my blinds up within a month. I love the product and the work is immaculate!

They did what was expected.

What happened was that there were three things that I wasn't thrilled about. They did come and they were very polite, and I gave them the specifics because I live in a condo and I had to match all the esthetics in order to install my windows, and it had to be approved by the condominium. I went to them because they offered a pillar window. When he came back with the bid they didn't have a pillar and they offered me another window. I tried to look that window up online and I didn't find anything specific about that window. And the other thing was they asked about their contractor and the representative couldn't give me information about him to look him up online. And I know that they contract with different people. There were just too many people involved and I couldn't keep track or find out information about each specific person to example the window and the contractor who Lowe's would hire. So I opted not to do that. You may not always get what you ask for. I just wasn't comfortable with how they would be accountable and I didn't get what I was asking for. I got the impression that the person who was doing the bid was trying to help me, but I didn't get what I was looking for. I would not use them for windows.

Overall the job went very well. We had the windows ordered and it took about a month for them to come in. Once they were in within a week they were here installing them. The weather put the crew behind a few days that's why we had to wait a week longer. I need 3 more windows replaced and plan on going back and getting them at Lowe's.

They did excellent work. They came when they said they were going to. I would use them in the future.

They had wonderful installers. They were very neat and on time. I couldn't tell you enough good things about them.
