Woods Landscape has been in business since 1979 servicing the Grand Rapids and especially the Ada, Cascade, Forest Hills, and East Grand Rapids areas. We pride ourselves on great service and try our best to make each of our customers feel like they are THE only customer. All of our employees (22) are vested in our business, and we feel this is a more quality driven way to run our business. Our company is local and family owned and operated. Their snow-plowing service is horrible. They do not own up to their mistakes. They damaged the driveway (and ripped off my lawn- not in the picture). Woods landscaping is not willing to fix this. We contacted their business and their Operation's manager (Jason Harmon) is blaming the builder and asphalt company for doing inferior work. The asphalt was newly built 4yrs ago. So only hire their services if you are willing to pay for all the damages they do to your property due to their own negligence.

They've done an awful lot of work for us. We've used them for a couple of seasons but the lawn maintenance, lawn mowing, is ongoing this Summer. They installed retaining walls for us a few years ago. They come every week. I'd give them an A on everything they do. They do really good work.

The lady who took the initial order was nice. She sent me the paperwork to approve the work right away. However, nobody followed up after that until one day, maybe about two weeks later, a truck showed up at my house, they were telling my wife who was at home that they are here to install mulch. I called the office right away to confirm if it was indeed Woods, and she was not 100% sure. I had to leave home early to drive home. It was indeed Woods. I was glad to see they finally showed up. Two guys showed their concerns right away. They indicated 2 yards of mulch I ordered won't be enough. So I asked how many yards do I need and how many do you have on the truck. They told me they will need about 3.5 to 4 yards, and they only had about 2.5 yards on the truck. I asked them to go ahead do the job and target using 3.5 yards. I have to say they did a great job getting the beds prepared and spreading the mulch. Certainly, they ran out of mulch and said they will need to come back later to finish the job. I asked how much more and they told me it would be another 3.5 yards. I was frustrated to hear that because they do this for a living and they could not give me the accurate estimates when the job started. Long story short, they finished the job the next morning. A few days later I got an invoice showing 7.5 yards of mulch was used. I called the office and talked to a "manager" to explain the situation. In reality if I was told 7.5 yards would be used at the beginning, I would have asked them to hold off until I can get a good estimate from other landscaping companies around the area. The "manager" I spoke told me that he could not trust my words. As the first time customer for this landscaping company, I put a lot of trust in them but at the end got screwed. I did pay them the full amount at the end since I did not want to go through the big hassle dispute it and two guys did do a good installing the mulch. I would not suggest my family and friends to use this company as they are not trustworthy. If they can't trust their customers, if they put money above anything else, they are focusing on the wrong thing.

When you called requesting a price, YOU told US that your yard only needed 2 yards of mulch. We had to "trust" that your yard only needed 2 yards of mulch, when it clearly needed way more than that. If you had let us come out to your home to estimate the job like we asked, we would have been able to give you an estimate showing the 7.5 yards. I am sorry that it was such a hassle for you. We want each customers experience with us to be great, but sometimes a contractor is not a great fit for a customer. I am truly sorry how this turned out (which I told you several times on the phone). But we have had many customers take advantage of us in situations like this, that we like to keep ourselves covered. Also, please forgive us if we put money above anything else. We certainly want to be able to stay in business, and be able to provide a great service for our customers. Also, please keep in mind you received an invoice for the entire job, which you agreed to when our crew was on site. We do hope you understand that at the end of the day, you didnt get "screwed". You simply paid full price for a service that you requested. We wish you luck in the future on your landscaping endeavors."

Other than the wet weather being a pain, Woods did an amazing job, and exceeded my expectations. Ken was great to work with, and his team really shined. Very professional. All his men wore uniforms, were neat and clean, and did great work.

Woods provides a great snowplow service. They send out e-mail updates to let you know about upcoming weather conditions and when their drivers will be out plowing.

My backyard has a deep slop between pavements and the grass, it was covered with large rocks. Between the rocks all sort of weeds are growing. I am too lazy to clear any of those weeds by hand. And the weeds are getting taller than I am. I want my backyard back. So I contacted Woods, they does my snow plowing in winter. They came to the property and give an estimate on price and timing. With agreement and clear weather, work started and finished within two weeks of time.
