Didnt do a full grout replacement as originally agreed in one of the showers, decided last minute they weren't comfortable doing it. They did a "skim coat" instead; lasted about 3 months. Areas where full grout removal and replacement were said to be done are cracking just 4 months later. (Not due to shifting, old grout was fine more than 8 years I owned the house, only replaced due to discoloration.) One of the areas where grout and door meet was completely missed, other areas just ended up looking real sloppy. My husband did better his first time ever grouting. They spent more time here than they expected to remove old grout, I'll give them that. But I wish I'd gotten what I thought I'd paid for- professionally replaced grout.
Response from GROUT MATTERS
"We gave the customer the option to go with a full re-grout or a skim coat. When we started the repairs it became evident that the risk for damage was too great. I offered to finish the repair and patch for no charge or to do a skim coat for a discounted price. I told them that the skim coat may not last but it would at least fill in the areas where they were missing grout and may give them a little time with nice looking grout. I recommended that the customer call another provider and look into having the shower replaced, but they wanted to opt for the band aid, which was a very small portion of the overall price. There were some areas that were missed in the other bathroom and we apologized for the inconvenience and took care of it."

Excellent! The guys did an awesome re-grout job in our Kitchen and Bathroom. Shower looked like brand new, and the cracked and chipped grout in the kitchen looked fabulous when they were done. We were very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend this company.

Shower looks new again and should be easier to keep clean now that grout is sealed.

It went very well. We were able to pick new colors to match the tile more precisely. Every room turned out great. When they were unable to get the master shower dry enough to apply the product, they arranged to schedule us in the next day at no additional cost. Top notch work, I would not hesitate to use them again.

The grout in the shower stall tiles was loose and occasionally water was leaking through to the basement ceiling.  They re grouted it and did a good job.
Also, the grout between the small white floor tiles was discolored in places.  We wanted it whitened.  They painted on some white cover using a product I later bought at Home Depot.  The paint came off within a few weeks.  What they really needed to do was remove the grout and re place it.  I thought they should have made it more clear just what the options were.  The floor paint was rather useless and an unnecessary expense.
After checking out some DIY information, I'll redo the floor myself.
I'm not sure of the exact date but it was sometime in late 2012.

I was impressed by these guys and how they run their business.  They are very professional and responsive.  We had the service performed and then requested they come back out for a few touch ups, for which they didn't balk at all at.  The price seemed a touch high, but their work is good and this kind of cleaning and sealing is VERY labor intensive, so it makes sense.
Good guys, good work. I would recommend them.

The service provider had to come back out and redo a couple of spots on the wall that weren't completely filled in and the floor that had some spots that weren't uniform in color. After returning we were satisfied.

The re-grout job was absolutely horrible and left me with many regrets....it looked like a very unskilled person did the job. I was out of town the week they came to do the job. When I arrived home, I immediately called and talked to Joe Mosher, who was, to his credit, very quick to send James out to check the job out. James was horrified at the results and apologized for a bad job and said he would try to make it better.....he ended up spending 2 more full days re-doing everything. The end result was much better, but still not at the level I had hoped for....in addition, I was charged $236.00 for replacing 4 tiles, 2 of which James had broke himself. At this point I just wanted it all to be done. The story does not end.....the bathtub was not draining anymore and when my husband took apart some of the plumbing to the tub, it was nearly FULL of grout that had been washed down the drain! When I called to talk to Joe about this, he sent James out the next day. James worked on the drain for awhile, but it wasn't fixed....I ended up calling a plumber who completely replaced the drain pipes....I have yet to receive his bill. Joe and James are very friendly men, but I would never hire Grout Matters for another job. Incidentally, they have a new policy about old bathrooms with old hard grout like mine had....if they find the grout to be so hard they can hardly drill it out, they will stop the job....I wish they had stopped mine.
