Iâ ve used other handyman services in the past with very unsatisfactory results so I was hesitant to try another. But I needed help and my own efforts were unsuccessful. Iâ m so happy I tried Home Advisor and will certainly do so again in the future. Burt was exceptionally professional, experienced and, bonus, a really nice man. Thanks.

Working with Burt was a terrific experience. He came to my site several times before I committed to the contract and was, at all times, friendly and knowledgeable and did everything he could to make me feel comfortable with hiring him. Burt kept me apprised of the status of starting the project and then arrived on schedule today as promised. Burt and his crew worked like a well oiled machine and with great attention to detail. The end product, new wood decking, looks fantastic. I’m very picky and if Burt can please me, he should be able to please just about anyone. Burt’s crew was great and very conscientious about entering my home when they needed to. Do not hesitate to have Burt give you an estimate - I think you’ll appreciate him as much as I did!

Burt was easy to work with and his crew were always polite and did a careful and professional job. The job ended up a bigger one than we had originally thought since the old deck foundation needed to be replaced. Also, due to disruptions in the supply chain there was a few weeks' delay in the middle of the project, and we eventually went with different color deck material than we originally selected. But we believe these things were beyond Burt's or anyone's control, and Burt kept us informed about developments and what our options were.

They will make suggestions but will only deliver what ask. At the end we were surprised at how keen they were to provide quality.

Burt was great to work with and always went the extra mile to help. He listened to us and addressed any concerns. He made sure the work was done to our satisfaction.

The Burton Hoekstra contractors were very polite and nice to work with. Although we had some snags along the way, such as having to wait far too long for the inspector to come out and ok the foundation of the deck, they still managed to complete the project by my daughter’s graduation party, which was no small feat. I am a very picky person and asked for some of the boards to be replaced, as they were not up to my standards, and they obliged. The crew was very friendly and kept things neat and organized throughout the project. The finished deck looks beautiful and is very sturdy. I’m very happy with it.

The Burt is a nice man. He explained how the porch would look and that it would be very sturdy. It appears to be sturdy and it looks nice...from the street. He did use premium grade lumber but I do not think it was meant for a deck/porch. The lumber is very rough. He did replace one railing piece because it was so rough. He used nails instead of screws. Many of the nails were not set all the way in so he came back and punched them down. He had to cut into the step on one side so the railing would fit. Took almost 2 weeks to complete a 40 x 72 porch. Overall disappointed with the results for the amount spent.
