Caron & Waltz

The “plumber” looked at my faucet and said he was “afraid” to work on it because it was “fancy”. I was charged $145.00 for this travesty. He also tried to sell me a service contract during this same visit. My faucet is not the cheapest on the market but is not especially unusual or frightening and is a common brand. It was installed by a licensed plumber, since retired, who showed no fear of the unit. The original firm of Caron and Waltz no longer exists and has been taken over by an outfit called Pine Tree Services. This experience seems like an outright scam to me.

They were all jobs that we needed done immediately . They responded as soon as they could. They fixed the problem and were professional and clean .

They job went very well. The electrician that was assigned to the job kept in touch and he was very respectful and responsive to anything I had to say.  He is a nice person to work with and he got his work done in a timely manner. I had smoke alarms hard wired into the house and they sent somebody out within the hour after I called and they apologized. I thought they were great.

I had contacted two other companies that install and service gas heaters. They came out to the apartment and examined the area where I wanted a new heater. The first two companies called me and told me that they would not be able to do the work as they did not have a ladder long enough to reach the third floor. They would have to either buy a ladder or rent some type of bucket ladder. I thought that perhaps I wouldn't be able to have a new heater installed. I decided to give Caron and Waltz a call and they came out quickly and were able to give me an estimate and a date that they could do the installation.
The price seemed to be comparable to the other two estimates I received and so I decided to go with them. The work was completed in two days and they did a great job. The tenant on the third floor is pleased with the new heaters. For some reason, the gas stove in the unit did not ignite after the work was done and so I stopped by the office and told them about the situation. They had a technician over that afternoon and the issue was resolved.

I couldn't be more pleased with the service and the work. Estimate was competitive, personnel very nice to deal with, work done on time and very neatly. My electrician was able to add several projects on the spot and it didn't cost me a fortune. Strongly recommended.

very responsive, timely quote, gave suggestions.  i have used Caron & Waltz in the past and they provide very good service at a reasonable price and I can count in them to be here when they say and do  what was asked.

have had problem with a valve leaking ever since. They supposedly guarantee their work and yet tried to charge me to come back out to fix it (twice now and still leaks!). One of their workers shut off my main valve as well while working and forgot to switch it back on so my pipes froze then burst as I was away! When I called the emergency #, the office manager was very rude and said that I had and quot;woke her and her husband upand quot;... that they had 600 other calls to handle. The tech called and said he couldn't do anything until morning and to put space heaters on. Then the office mgr said that I told them not to come! Then, they tried to charge me anyway.

Next, the office mgr sent me a nasty letter stating she would wave the fee for work on the guarantee but could charge me for a 'consult' of an hour that their plumber had to explain the system to me, which is BS - I had to explain to the idiot where the pipe was still leaking! I have been a regular customer for years and will NEVER use them again. I have to re-do the toilet pipe as it is not properly pitched and too close to the wall to accomodate my disability, which I clearly explained prior to the work. I also have a witness (my carpenter) and my nephew is a licensed plumber in Hollis, as well as another local plumber/ witness (who fixed the frozen pipes when Cand W wouldn't come and he is a terrific plumber - does not work for Caron and Waltz yet Caron and Waltz tried to charge me for the work he did to repair the frozen pipes too!).

I can't believe they charged me $1500 for an ill-placed pipe that has to be re-done and their plumber can't fix a simple leak in 3 tries, then they try to charge me for it and insult me. And the final nasty comment stated that they expect payment by the end of the month or will begin charging interest! They are lucky I don't sue them for the water damage! Stay away - they are crooks and abusive. I had been warned by two of my other contractors but I just couldn't believe it until it happened to me....

It went great and my tenants were very happy!

They are honest and reliable. They try to accommodate you. They have skilled employees. I have used them in the past for electric work.

They came right out and reset my water heater. I had used them before for my furnace and was very happy. They even gave me a senior discount.

Excellent service and very efficient. Techs are very acomodating and explain things well.

Work was comleted as scheduled and without problems of any kind. Great job! Very friendly and courteous staff who were a pleasure to do business with. The company owner himself reviewed the work.

They are awful. I had two bad experiences with them. It was very expensive for a sink installation. They forgot to put the form to cover the hole on the bottom of the spout and they never came back to do that work. A man that had been working with my dad for years came in and fixed the problem in 15 minutes with the furnace with a slight adjustment. They have been here forever in the Portland area but I found them irresponsive and extremely expensive and not competent. They could have cost me a whole lot of money with the furnace. They did show up. They did work shoddily and incorrect.

Kitchen garbage disposal was leaking water from a spot that rusted out after 7 years. I purchase a new disposal and had them remove the old one and put in the new disposal I bought . They also checked all the drains to be sure they were not plugged up over the years. Serviceman showed up on time and did a first rate job. Cleaned up and took the old disposal with him. Would highly recommend them for any plumbing and electrical work as I have used them several times in the past with excellent results.

From our first phone call requesting a quote to the end of the project, Caron and Waltz did everything in a timely manner. We received the quote on the day they said it would be available and they arrived on time every day and finished the job on time. Even the folks in the office that we spoke to were professional and friendly.
Chris and Rob were punctual; they provided high-quality fixtures and high-quality work. Our home is 93 years old and presents its own unique challenges for any remodel job. They did a great job and left our home spotless. The price they quoted was reasonable for the work involved; they even came in under budget and made the appropriate adjustment to our final bill. Chris and Rob were professional and friendly and we will definitely hire them again for any future work on our home. We highly recommend Caron and Waltz.

Great job!! Top efficiency in all aspects of the job by knowlegable staff. The owner of the company was available and visited the job from time to time but really wasn't needed as the staff were great to work with. This is a great local company with a local owner.
