HOLGERSON INC

It's seems to be going well but slowly due to a tough winter in Maine. The company is very professional, and the roof is said to last 40-50 years with minimal maintenance. I can supply a better report when the job is completed.

Our job was a 1,000 square foot barn/garage. We had trouble getting competitive bids for a standing-seam metal roof in our rural area. Most local roofing companies don't do or aren't experienced with metal roofs. Holgerson proved to be the only viable source we could find. Fortunately, they turned out to be excellent. They visited the site shortly after we contacted them and provided a written proposal shortly after that. They worked with us on the schedule for doing the work so that we were able to get the job done shortly after 3 skylights were installed in the roof. They showed up on time with the equipment and crew to do the job in one day. The roof looks great and is performing up to expectations so far. Holgerson seems like a very skilled and professional organization to us. I'm unsure how to rate their price since I was unable to get a competitive bid.

. Was all very hard workers, stayed on job all day. Came back the next day, worked until it was done. They cleaned everything up , they did a great job, it looks very nice. We would highly recommend them to anyone .Would use again.

I called to request an estimate in July, and they complied in a relatively short time, sending someone on the 25th. They followed with a written estimate, a choice of colors, and a brochure explaining the process, and that they did quality work. The letter said we should sign and return a copy, and that they could start work in about 8-10 weeks. At about the 9 week mark, I called to get a date, because either my husband or I would need 2 weeks notice in order to get time off work. I spoke to a receptionist, who said she would relay my message. In a week, after no reply, I called again--same thing. I tried numerous times that month, to no avail. There are several numbers on their brochure, and I tried all of them. They all lead to the same receptionist! The last time I called I told the receptionist that Holgerson's services would no longer be required, as we were having the work done by someone else. We got a call that very evening, and they said they could start on the 15th. I was tempted to say no, but we really had not found someone else, so we agreed. When the roofers came, they were punctual, friendly and professional. They completed their work in 2 days, and cleaned up. We love our roof, and it looks great. I'd definitely use them again, but I'd ask them in advance how to get in touch. It's obviously not by telephone.

Excellent crew, that's the single biggest reason for the good grade. We had a little delay in getting the job started due to the availability of the color we chose but when the guys showed up they breezed through the job in half a day. The crew was huge, fast, and friendly-exactly what you would expect when you shell out 10k for a job. The Holgerson crew looked even better when shown in stark contrast to our builder/contractors who were slow as snails; Holgerson's guys blew them out of the water. They were honest too, even offering a credit for flashing a chimney that they'd originally quoted but had been knocked down by the time they came to do the job-we didn't even have to ask, they simply said they'd give us a credit on the final bill. Great service, easy to work with, warranteed work, would definitely use them again if we had another job. They are a little hard to get ahold of through the answering service but other than that, no major complaints.
We would have liked a little more consulting up front, we didn't realize until they did the installation that it would be difficult for us to have gutters again (the ice and snow will take them off when they slide) unless they were installed perfectly. Fortunately we have a dry basement (so far) so we'll just put the money we would have put into gutters into installing a french drain around the perimeter of the house.
